Hi fellow long-hairs.
Have been experimenting with various styles at the mo. Can't wait until my hair reaches its former long glory. One I've recently tried is this high pony-tail.
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it, so thought I'd post a pic to gauge others' reactions. Please be gentle. Ha ha.
Troy
i love it guys do this!! in my opinion, it doesn't happen nearly enough. me likey.
Hi Troy
Nice progress! Not sure what to think about the high PT. I've seen it on a few men where I live, so it must be popular for a reason.

For whatever reason I've always viewed high tails as feminine, or to be more precise, short high tails. Someone like Mauro Camoranesi often wore a high tail but his hair was quite long, and it looked excellent. So, as far as my tastes go, I think you look fine from the front, but at other angles the short tail clashes with your very masculine build.
Of course, all that matters is how you view it. Keep up the growth!
Matt
Yes, relax! It suits you.
And what do you mean by your former longhair 'glory' (indeed, I thought this was your first time growing out your hair)? Sorry if you've already explained this before...
Hi Deanof316. Yes this is the 2nd time of me growing out my hair. Although I only joined this site recently, I did have past-shoulder length hair prior, so I am well prepared for the awkward stages.
How's the training going by the way?
Troy
Thanks for asking, I am finishing my last exam for my second last undergrad semester, next week.
I've been so busy that I haven't been pushing myself like I need (and want to :) the last 2 months or so, BUT as of mid-next week I am going to the limit, increasing my effectiveness and intensity in the gym, increasing Cardio, doing gym classes like Pump and Spinning, Pilates (maybe Yoga too) and continuing with my karate training. Also more stretching.
I have 6 months till i go to Calgary in January where I will be trained by Lance Storm in Professional Wrestling....so I've got a little time :)
I'm also starting my Certificate IV Personal Trainer Qualification next week, so it's exciting times.
(& just one more academic 'hurdle' for now)
As for you...long hair really does suit you, yet perhaps even more importantly, you are a longhair at heart so regardless of your hair length that will always be you.
That said, looking forward to future progress!
Dean
P.S. How is your training going?
Hi Dean. Its so cool you're being trained by Lance Storm and into the wrestling. I really love that whole wrestler look, and think the long hair is the perfect juxtapose to the muscles and brawn.
I'm actually a personal trainer by trade, and have worked in the industry for over five years. I love it because it means I get to help other people towards something that really positively affects their lives. My own training is about six days a week and includes weights (the usal heavy weights), cardio, kickboxing(twice a week) and plyometrics.
I hope everything goes well for you in the next few months and wish you all the best in the profession.
Take care.
Troy
It's great to have someone in the same field as me here on the board and I completely share your sentiments on the personal satisfaction you gain from your work. It's also reassuring in a way to hear you say this 5 years in :)
Thanks Troy, much appreciated mate.
I'll do my best and you too :-)
Hey Troy,
Both of those photos show a very good ponytail, which suits you quite well, I think. It looks great and it will only get better as your hair gets longer. Keep it growing! =)

I am not happy with mine quite yet, but yours looks really neat, yeah like it!!
I think it's a great pony-tail, and a mark of progress and patience.
Keep it growing!

Your hair looks great now keep up the terrific progress. I am not a fan of high tails but I think it is just a matter of exposure. Mostly I have seen men wear low ponytails and women high ones, so I am biased by this. There is no meaning in either style so I know it is just a matter of what I have gotten used to. When I first comtemplated growing my hair out and someone asked me if I would ever put it in a tail, I said no way only girls do that. Little did I know...
So the high tail is quite long enough to be serious so if you are comfortable with the style, go for it. Your hair is long enough to not be a wannabe that way. I think I am still too much of a comformist even now.. oh well
Hello there!
I think the ponytail looks really nice on you!
take care
Hey Troy
the high pony tail looks great man. It suits you quite well. Honestly!
Hi Troy! Glad you are comming around to realize longhair is where its at!LOL.As for the high pony I kind of like it especially since your hair is not too long yet.Even with your muscular body it does compliment your overall appearance in my opinion.Thumbs UP!Mark
Hmmmmmm
Ive never wear a high ponytail Ive always weared low ones its a matter of personnal choice I suppose if your happy with wearing a high ponytail so be it it looks ok but a low one should look better Btw how do you prefer to wear your hair ????
Axel
Hi Troy, welcome!
I can see that your hair is in great condition, and I think the high ponytail looks good, besides, who's going to mess with you?
It won't be long ( a month?) and you'll start a low ponytail.
Take care,
Bruce
Well in general the lower the ponytail the better, but I've been wearing high-ish ponytails for the past couple of months (otherwise they don't hold) and it's better than I thought it would be. As long as it gets the job done, you're all good :)
P.S. How long does it hold for like that?
Hi Troy,
Your hair looks wonderful, and is healthy and full of shine, you are blessed with straight hair that is the fastest growing type of hair. The high ponytail looks great, and your hair grows quickly enough that you will be be able to wear a low ponytail in no time. Keep up the great growth!
All the best,
David
Hey Troy ...
The pony looks great. It works for you. Go with it man.
