My hair seems to be losing its shine in the last month, maybe due to the lack of humidity. Has anyone got any secrets to getting it really shiny, and keeping it so?
A good shine comes from a healthy, flat cuticle. To promote this, keep from damaging your hair, use a shampoo with a low pH, and rinse with cold water. There are also several ingredients that are reputed to add shine to the hair. No doubt some of them do, but my impression is that most of these claims are nothing but hot air.

Yeah, that's what I'm finding, too. The add-ons like Laminates and various "shine" sprays like Aveda's look good initially, but my hair gets really dirty quick.
My favorite laminate is Citre Shine Hair Polisher. It does not dry sticky like so many of the others so it doesn't attract dirt.
As to your complaint about the buildup, use a clarifying shampoo to cleanse your hair.
Thanks Victor, I'll try these!
My favorite is the citré shine hair polisher too, but unfortunately I cannot get it here in Germany. I tried to get in contact with the company - did not get any reply. Would appreciate someone who could help me in this matter!
Thanks in advance!!

My hair has never been shiny. Is there a diet that would help that?
I've tried several products. The best so far is called Citre Shine. It's a clear liquid that you message into your hair. It makes it more shiney and less firzzy. You should also rinse your hair in cold water after you condition it. That closes the pore and keeps the hair shiney.

I have tried a lot of products but I know that a lot of the products out there are very expensive. Most people think that the pricier they are the more shine and volume your hair will get, but I know for a fact that regular shampoos work good. I would recommend a shampoo that gets rid of build-up, like Herbal Essences. Or a shampoo that is made to enhance shine like ThermaSilk or Citra Shine. Also you should give ypur hair a DEEP conditioning treatment at least once a month to keep your hair in condition, I would reccommend herbal essences conditioning balm. I hope that my information will help you out!
