Since my thread asking about ideas of things to see in Pheonix got kind of buried I thought I'd start another thanking all those who offered suggestions. This would include NIC,Grant,Mike,Tristan and all others who replied.I did take note of all the ideas and will definately try and do some of them.I am traveling with relatives on this trip so I have to take that into consideration but they are flexible. It would be cool to met some of you as Grant suggested the Paradise Valley Mall. Not even sure where that is in relation to where we'll be staying.I plan on bringing my laptop just so I can keep on top of things online and if time permits post some pics along the way on the board. So in a little over a week I'll be on my way and ready for the heat!LOL.As long as the humidity is low I don't think it'll bother me all that much.I work outdoors a lot and I'm used to broiling in the summer heat here in NJ.Anyway thanks again to all who wrote as I'm ready for a vacation!Mark
The Paradise Valley Mall is on the northwest corner of the intersection between Cactus Road and Tatum Blvd. in northeast Phoenix - exit 10 off State Rt. 51 (Piestewa Parkway). I haven't been there in close to four days now!
Personally as a longhair I would avoid Phoenix. Phoenix is in Maricopa County home of the famed Sheriff Arpaio. He does not like men with longhair. That was the first thing he bragged about after starting that tent city(basically a concentration camp) was forcing haircuts on prisoners with long hair. So be very careful if you go out there!
The same could be said of most foreign countries. Stay out of trouble or bad things may go down. Joe Arpaio is a twisted, evil monster. He used to always have commercials on tv, and his methods are extremely inhumane. An acquaintance of mine (who would always draw things for me) went to tent city. All the unsuitable for human consumption food and pink underwear crap is true.
He also told me lots of other terrible things. Unfortunately, the whole thing seemed to kill his will to live, and he went mad with thoughts of revenge and soon died.
Nothing you should really concern yourself with, I'm 20 years old and I've never seen Arpaio in person. I've seen and heard a lot of bad things in my life and I have no respect for government or "justice". I believe government is one of the greatest evils of the world, next to religion, but those are deeper matters that I won't delve into. I just stay out of trouble so I don't become another victim of the empire that we're all oppressed by.
If you go to jail anywhere, they'll probably cut your hair. It's a barbaric and primitive punishment to break you down and kill your spirit of individuality to keep you obedient and in line. As a child, I made a vow long ago that if I am ever wronged by justice (i.e. punishment resulting in haircut, disfigurement, rape), I would put highest priority in getting my words to humanity out for the world to hear, and then ending my life.
