I am 36 and living in the UK. I am looking on pointers and advice as to how to get my hair to grow longer. Its reached this length and will not get much longer.
Awsome hair dude...glad to see another UK longhair on the board.
As for your question to be fair if it seems that the hair is no longer growing much more than the length it is at it is possible you have reached its terminal length.
But hey dude if thats your terminal length don't worry it looks amazing and its a really good length...but it may just feel that its not growing longer because its at such a length were noticability of such things is harder....
Either way love the hair...keep it rockin'
Welcome to the board Tom, you have an awesome mane there. I hope you haven't reached terminal length but it looks terrific all the same
Welcome to he MLHH Tom!
You have outstanding hair. I am not sure if you have reached terminal yet but if so, I wouldn't worry one bit because your hair looks superb.
Welcome Tom, your hair looks lovely. Want more length? Make sure you eat a clean diet. Minimize junk food intake. If you smoke, stop. Get adequate sleep. Avoid things that do physical damage to your hair. Dietary supplements help. (I take MSM and saw palmetto.) These things can be controlled.
Genetics play a major role in how long your hair will get too. You have no control of genetics.

Another Tom from the UK lol. Guess I will have change my name to Tom.H or something. By the way you have some great locks
Hi Tom,
Your hair looks awesome in this picture, and appears to be in great condition. I am not sure whether you have reached terminal length, but with proper care, I am sure you should be able to grow your mane significantly longer. (A good diet, treating your hair gently, conditioning daily, etc.)
All the best,
David
Welcome, Tom!! We have another user here named, "Tom" also; but hey, I'll let you guys fight it out between yourselves (lol)!!
Anyway, you have AWESOME hair there, --- and yes, it's possible that you have reached the maximum length that your genetics seem to allow (which we call, "terminal length" around here). My hair has slowed down in growth also (my avatar pic is 3 and 1/2 years old, so my hair is considerably longer than that pic now); but has not completely stopped, either...
One thing that may help a bit is to apply some beneficial oil to the hair ends. Jojoba oil, Kukui nut oil. Almond oil, or even Olive oil are all helpful at preventing split ends and just in general keeping your hair from getting too dry or damaged, due to that part of your hair having the most years of exposure to the elements. I also try not to shampoo too frequently, --- I'm down to just twice a week, max. Some guys here even go as far as to water-wash only; while others will use conditioner only. But, this is very individual... Check out out Links section at the top, --- there's some great advise and comments to read in there (my favorite being Bill Choisser's, "On Being aA Longhair").
Hope this helps!

Welcome! Great to have you here.
Everyone has a different what is called "Terminal Length" to which their hair is able to grow before not appearing to go beyond a certain point. Some make it to their knees which is really extremely rare while others can just about make make it to their waist. All must be genetics of course.
Most likely you have reached as long as your hair will grow to, but for an important question of which you probably know of anyway as your long hair looks fabulous.
Do you use a conditioner? This is a very important element in helping with the least damage of all to your hair. If you haven't been using a conditioner, perhaps give it try and stick with it from now on. It may very well be that this may extend your Terminal length "if" up until now you have not used conditioners in your hair. (By extend, I am thinking perhaps several more inches.)
Good luck to you, and again welcome to the Hyperboard.
Welcome Tom, from what I see your hair is in good, healthy condition regardless of how fast/ slow it may grow. There are many on this site that can offer good advice on maximizing length so that you can realise even longer hair.
Good luck,
Bruce
