Hi all.
Everytime I think about trying to grow long hair-I get to a phase(about 1 month after a haircut) that my hair begins to grow up and looking like an Afro haircut-how can I control my hair to grow long and not tall? Also,How long does it take to grow, let's say, shoulder length hair?
Thanks.
The key is... patience. What you are referring to is the infamous awkward phase, it is usually more disturbing for guys with curly/wavy hair than those with straight hair. Persevere and you'll get through it all. You could also read the threads below as there are lots of pple around here dealing with that phase.
It takes about 1.5 to 2 years for hair to reach shoulders and beyond.
Cheers,
Jin
Hi Jin.
I'm not sure you understood my hair phase-it's bushy and it's not even in the awkward phase-it's about 3-4cm long and I don't know how to control it-can you advice me?
btw:will the hair will grow alright if I comb it to the side and not center?
I know exactly how you feel, and though my hair isn't long yet I have conquered that "poofy" stage that my wavy and kinda thin hair experiences. I let the natural oils build up and only occasionally shampoo my hair. Mine looks a lot better now, it may not be your thing but give it a try.
