2 Metal bands are gonna play here at the Kiruna festival where i live tomorrow, one of them is the Finnish Lordi who won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006 and after that there's a Swedish band called Evergrey also playing.
I've only heard Lordi and i think they're pretty good actually, i have a few albums with them, they've got a great show as well!:D
Lordi
Evergrey
Hi Georgi,
I think you will enjoy both bands and I have seen Lordi once in Finland before the Eurovision thing and they were really good. I also had a the pleasure of enjoy several drinks with them afterwards! They look quite different without their makeup and not many people have seen that outside Finland.
Have fun,
John.B
Wow these guys have amazing hair....I hope you enjoy the Heavy Metal concert dude.
I really wish I was at least in Europe or something because Taiwan is not really good when it comes to metal, and China is worse because the government actively suppresses it. I just came back from one and it may not be like it is in America (I don't know.. never gone to one in America, sucks to have something and let it escape..) but its still pretty damm good!
Sorry for the poor quality pic, this camera isn't good for low light conditions... wish I could take a better pic...
Yeah, I can feel for you, Tai Fu, man! I can feel for you. Why, jus' click on the link below. CHIMAIRA (one of my favorite monsters, BTW), GWAR (hilarious gore fest metal!), SHADOWS FALL (metal's longest dreads!), EVERY TIME I DIE, Sweden's tribute to Tolkien AMON AMARTH, and many more!
And hey, seriously, inquire through RVOLVER magazine for a job as their Taiwanese concert gigs photographer. The start of a whole new career! Go for it!
More metal,
Quenyan
Yeah, Tai Fu, man,
I totally, totally encourage you to enquire about workin' for REVOLVER magazine as their official roving man-about-Taiwan Metal show photographer. They're always lookin' to cover shows in other countries besides the U.S. of A. You've got what it takes, man!
Best of luck,
Quenyan
I don't know about Lordi but GWAR is great.
Thats the first thing that came to my mind as well.
I recently discovered Gwar. I have to agree with you. I checked out Lordi's myspace, but they don't sound a great deal like Gwar, IMO. Gwar pretty much have their own sound.
You're absolutely right, Fallen Angels!
There's only one GWAR! I've been following them since the late 80's . . . they're hysterically funny, BUT, they originated their brand of gore fest / horror / theatrical metal! Their Christmastime tour with "Satan Claus", where they invited audience participants onstage to be "eaten" by their bizarre ogrish Satan Claus mock-up will, well, that'll always stay with me! Leave it to a bunch of art college majors!
Go here for their official website. They are just too funny. Roman coliseum metal for the disenfranchised masses! Hargh!
Yours in metal,
Quenyan \m/
Gwar! Yeah, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw a pic of Lordi... Gwar wannabes. I heard their music and don't care for it, but to each-his own.

I saw Lordi on Eurovision last year they were pretty good on TV. I was to see them live at Wacken this year but they canceled. :(
Interesting to see them without their masks.
