    Although "Signs" is not about hair per se, the first stanza addresses prejudice against longhairs. Listening to this again after so many years, it occurred to me that the title "Signs" refers not just to large words printed on a flat surface, but also "signs of the times".

    I alays look forward to your, "Hair Song of the Week" series! Thank you for doing these! "Signs" is one of my all-time faaaaavorite songs. "And the sign said 'Longhaired Freaky People Need Not Apply!'...", one of the most daunting lyrics anywhere. I think the metal (!) band, TESLA, did an all acoustic version of this on "M-TV's Unplugged" many years ago. Keep 'em comin'!

      Quenyan, my buddy, you are "Absolutely Right". It was on Tesla's "Five Man Acoustical Jam" album (1990). Glad you're enjoying the series!

      Thanks for the feedback Bragi. Glad you're enjoying the series, and I can say right now that most of the music in future editions will most likely be unfamiliar to most people. I for one love exploring the backwaters of pop music so there will be some real gems here.
