I have shoulder length hair which has lots of wave and body. How can I manage it to prevent looking too feminine? Without cutting it short, it gets way out of control and swirls all around. I'm constantly having to brush it out of my eyes, away from my neck, etc.
Any tips?
Have you considered a ponytail? Braiding? Or some other type of updo?
99.9999999% of the folks here will tell you to put it in a pony tail.
And that's a valid option. However, I have another, use hairspray.
96.78728734% here will protest about "junk" in your hair, but for
myself, I prefer the loose hair look, but don't want it in my eyes,
mouth, etc. and like it too look good - hence the hairspray.

I agree with hairspray when leaving your hair down. Don't overdo it. Just enough to hold it in place.
My favorite hairspray is Biolage, Finishing Spritz, firm hold.
It works great and unlike some, is fairly easy to comb out.
Having said that I will still use a pony tail when doing heavy construction.....sawing, driving nails, etc.
Shoulder length hair is the ideal length to be set on rollers. There are so many nice styles you can do with a roller set when you have shoulder length hair. I would go to a salon and try a roller set.
Let me know how you make out.
