My mum recently gave me the advice to either get my head cut or buy a comb and comb them regulary.
So far I'd always kept my hair so short that there wasn't much that could have been combt.
So now I'm wondering what all the different types of combs and brushes are good for.
I went into a shop a few days ago and was rather surprised by the large amount of different types and the difference in price.
The longest hair I can find on my head is probably about 10cm long.
What is there to consider when choosing a comb and what are the different types good for in any case?
I'd go with the wider brushes
Why?
(That's just any picture showing brushes I found on the internet. It doesn't display any certain product I was considering to buy)
Everything you have in this picture are brushes. I higley recommend you staying away from brushes as hey have a tendency to tear the hair more easily. I use, and recommend, a comb with large teeth. The bigger the better.

... I use only a wide tooth comb.

I use a wide toothed comb just to detangle my hair before showering.
Usually finger comb since combing/brushing 'takes the life' out of my curly hair, it just looks poofy afterwards since I've broken up the twirls(?) of hair.
Philip, I think something like this would be good.
Thanks to all of you for all the advice.
I'll go and buy an ordinary comb with wide teath tomorrow. That's also a lot cheaper than those brushes which seem to cost 5â¬'s and more.
Yikes! What a vast array to be sure as to boggle the mind of Einstein himself.
I would suggest asking your mother or better yet a Salon for the answers to all of these.
Best of luck to you in finding out.
I don't see my parents that frequently. It's exam time at the moment so I'm staying in my appartment on the campus most of the time.
Because of that the shock of the increased hair length is all the grater every time...

It depends what type of hair you have, but a straight-toothed comb, like the one that someone posted a pic of, is the best. I personally comb my hair with my fingers, as regular combs just make it frizzy. The curlier your hair, the better it is to finger-comb.
