I decided to grow my hair out a year and two months ago from a buzzed off cut. I have thick wavy hair which is a pain in the arkward stage (I hope it isn't once it's long) But my mom made me get it trimmed every two months to keep it looking somewhat nice. The longest it got then was down to my eyebrows in the front and in the back I'm not sure. But now finally with the help of gel I haven't gotten a trim in about 4 1/2 months and my hair still looks OK. My bangs are just past my eyes, and the back when it doesn't flip up much actually can touch the collar of most of my shirts. I have heard though for people with wavy hair or thick hair it is good to get trims to help your hair later on too. But I'm scared now because I finally starting to have people actually say that I have long hair (which in my eyes I don't yet)What should I DO. Should I WAIT A LITTLE LONGER BEFORE A TRIM OR NOT GET ON AT ALL?? Please reply.
You'd have long hair by now if you didn't get it trimmed, don't
trim it unless absolutely neccesary, mine is about a month from my
chin and its been 8 months without a cut.

Gilee, if you want to maximise your hair length, do not head for any trim at all unless you have split ends (which impedes growth). Trimming simply prolongs the growing process.
Hope you'll have long hair that you desire soon.
DO NOT GET A TRIM AT ALL!!! If its long hair you are after, forget
about haircuts, trims, etc. All they do is prolong the awkward stage, and you don't want that, do you?
