Back in March I started playing around with synthesizer programs. Recently I've made some pretty good songs, or so I think :)
I just thought it might be a good idea to show you guys at the mlhh

Hey Andrew. That was really neat! Keep experimenting for you never know if you may suddenly discover something which so far no one else has. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thanks.
Andrew,
I listened to all four of your tunes and I think my favorite of the four is "Feel The Pain", though I enjoyed them all. Are you planning on promoting your music, making CDs, etc. or is this more of a hobby? If you have a CD available, I'll buy one.

Thanks, its good to know that people actually like my music! I'm not sure what to consider it. I would say that its more of a hobby now; I'm only 15 and I do plan on continuing to play around with stuff and maybe buy some hardware. I don't think my music is good enough to really promote or anything yet, I'll see what happens though.
I would consider it "Electronica" though as you compose and record more music, you might consider sub-categories of electronica such as ambient, trance, house, krautrock, etc. Classification is not really important; making music for the love of doing it is what matters!

For the "real Composer, " age means nothing. Throughout the centuries composers have come out of nowhere and their results were already good enough for concerts at a young age. Of course, as they get older they hone-in in a different way with the gift they were born with. To be a composer is something that cannot be taught. One can "learn" and study forms, Theory, Harmony, Counterpoint etc., but when the chips are down it is the person himself that invents the music. There is no course or class that can teach this aspect of music. By the age of 15 I had already composed many works, the largest at that point a Concerto for Piano and Orchestra. Mozart was composing beginning at 3 years old.
Considering what there is right now out there being heard in an idom along your lines, I would say you have arrived despite age. Keep experimenting, working, and yet enjoying as you go and all that happens is improvement with age.
Best of luck to you.
Justin
I Totally agree Justin with you

You have a gift and a talent.....by all means pursue it !!
Note: your "friend" from Amsterdam may want to change his screen name....it is an image blotch on YOUR site. (just a suggestion)
Thanks for Sharing

Andrew, as Justin said, don't let your age limit you. I'm impressed with the work you have done here, you definitely have a talent. My compliments.

Cool stuff, dude. I love "Feel the Pain"; I actually downloaded it, lol. Your stuff seems somewhere between amateurish and expert, which is pretty good for someone just experimenting. Sure, you still have a lot to learn, but you've definitely got talent. Your bass lines are awesome. Some songs seem like they would benefit from being processed through the mixer more; "Chill," for example, sounded like it needed more reverb because it sounded too empty. "Feel the Pain" seems to end too abruptly; maybe you could fade out the volume instead.
I use FL Studio (Frootyloops) too. It's funny because I can actually tell some of the FL synths you used, like Plucked! and possibly Sytrus.
Great work overall. Keep at it.
Peace
Haha; yeh, I used pluck and styrus. I've been wanting to buy some hardware, I would rather work with my hands than use a mouse.
Ahhhhh... when I think of synth music, I think of the incredible Rick wakeman. Not only could that guy do cool things with synthesizers and keyboards, but he had wonderful long flowing blonde hair as well. I loved Rick when he was with the Strawbs, and later when he joined Yes. Ahhhh... the days of good Brit Prog Rock! If you ever get a chance to listen to any of Rick's solo projects, I highly recommend "The Six Wives of Henry VIII". Keep practicing, writing, and honing your craft. You never know where you might go with it.

heh - the strawberry alarm clock - psychedelic rock of the 60's + 70's was awesome.
