Off topic. I'm tired of meeting women in bars. I was going to try one of those online "dating" things. Anyone know of any good ones that aren't fake or rip-offs? I've heard mixed reviews of adultfriendfinder.com and fling.com (I think you know the route I'm talking about). Thanks.
To be honest. Your either going to get your confidence up and approach women in a bar that you like, or meet girls on the net and waste your money(You can do it for free)
There are plenty of sites like faceparty with women on it you can meet, but in all seriousness, your not likely to meet your future wife in a bar or club!
Just go up to a woman and ask if she wants a drink, make small talk, if she responds, go for it!
Don't bother with these sites, all they do is show you the women, you still have to meet them and do the same as you would in a bar, only it cost you more to do it!
My buddy's been with a woman he met on eharmony and he's been goading me into joining up but I haven't yet.

I never liked the bar scene much myself. You're in a "meat market" and it's tough to get or give a realistic impression. I was fortunate - I met my wife thanks to a setup - not quite a blind date - by a friend. 19 years later and counting.
What are you interested in? Get involved in groups that reflect your interest. You might not meet the woman of your dreams, but you'll probably make some new friends who can introduce you to her. And you'll also be giving back to the community which will make you feel good regardless.

I met my last girlfriend at one of those sites. It was the longest relationship I've been in. I'm sort of friends with her now. I actually still want to be more than that, but it's inrequited for reasons that are apparently beyond me. I've had another friend go through something similar in a relationship that started online only in reverse. It seems to always end up that one is there for fun and the other is there for a serious relationship.
I have TONS of attractive female dance partners who are single, gorgeous,, nice, and wish to high-heaven that more straight men would learn how to dance!!! I'm a gay dude (as many here will testify re. me openly admitting many times here), and I've been taking various kinds of partner dance classes ever since I was in my early 20s (I'm.... uh... in my very LATE 20s now, of course, --- yuk yuk, gafaw-gafaw!). I cannot even begin to tell you how many fine, fun, wonderful women I've met who've had a crush on me at one time or another, who have only wished I was a straight guy, --- or, clone one like me so they could date a dancer!
There is nothing, let me repeat: there is NOTHING more fun that 2 people can do, vertically-speaking, than to move together to music. I've taken classes in various Ballroom dances, Swing, Salsa, Country & Western, you name it... They all attract different trypes of women (Ballroom being a bit more formal than the others); but, seriously, all it takes is a little humility that a beginning dance class might actually be worth the $$, and I'll guarantee you, you'll never regret going that route, instead of the internet!
- Ken in San Francisco (with too many single, straight women around that I don't know what to do with!)
Dancing....that sounds like a good idea actually. If i can manage to get over my shyness lol. I'll keep that in mind for later on when I have the time :)
Try OKCupid.com it's free and you can see if you like that sort of thing. I'm there and was fairly surprised to find contacts that would accually correspond with me at my age bracket and interests.
Yeah, there are alot of dumb dating websites out there. The absolute best I have found is eHarmony.com. You have to fill out a long questionnaire but you get results that are tailored to your personality. It is also not expensive - cheaper than match.com which was not useful to me. However, you could also just think about what you really love and get involved in it. Or you could think about what kind of person you are and get involved in say intellectual pursuits, or athletic pursuits, or outdoor pursuits or whatever. You can see I have given this a lot of thought for myself! Hope it helps you. - Doug
