Hi everyone, first of all thanks to all the long haired dudes who give me a bit of inspiration to even start this journey. Im now at 9 months from a skinhead, a haircut that i have had for over 20 years, but hey, a little mid life crisis and long hair here we come. The awkward stage is kicking in now and i have a new friend called GEL. otherwise i have big,big hair. If i am honest i dont give a monkeys about the awkward stage and i am loving the feel and different look that each month brings. This is a great community for wannabes and long hairs alike , keep it up guys and girls. All the best Jonny H uk
Jonny H. Nice progress, Happy journeys into longhairedom!
peace, jonalbear
Hi jonalbear, thanks for the comment. I can see your a good way into your own journey, all the best Jonny H.
That's some nice growth for 9 months, it looks great, i also use gel sometimes but now it's starting to behave a little better without it, i'm only in my 4 month now so:)
Take care!
Simon
Hi Simon, thanks mate,i see your making progress as well, but this time doing it your own way, with no dyes or colouring.Keep on growing , all the best Jonny H
Our mind control seems to be working my fellow longhaired conspirators, today Jonny, tomorrow the world!! :)
This is a great picture Jonny, you can see the progress you have made. Your hair is starting to curl some, having its own way lol
Better to start long hair late than never I say, I didn't start until I was 42! Keep up the great progress
Lol!! That's funny, Chris!
And Jonny, that's a GREAT group of update pics, --- your mane is definitely coming along very very nicely there!!!
I'm also enjoying the beautiful green background, which is one of the things I fell in love with about England and Scotland... I visited England for my first time ever last May, and I must say that the UK is breathtakingly GORGEOUS (*especially* the gardens). I also saw a lot of longhairs while up in Scotland, --- and I mean, a LOT of guys walking around with shoulder-length or various "awkward-stage" length hair blowing in the breezy streets of Edinburgh... It was really inspiring & heart-warming!

Hi Ken, thank you for your reply. Yes the pictures were taken in my garden today at 3pm, by 5pm it was raining hard with hailstones, ah, the beauty of a English summer.I am down in the south of the uk , so at least we get a bit of sunshine.Hope life is good for you, all the best Jonny H
Hi Chris, thanks mate, hope you are feeling good. The majority of people on here are really upbeat and it makes a pleasant change to be able to look at and read about peoples journey into long hair.Yes, it is starting to curl, something i didnt think would happen.lol. Cheers Chris ,Jonny H
Good for you, Jonny.
While not quite mid-life myself (I hope), I, too, have not had the resolution and determination to grow out my hair before now. (I am 30.) It is a journey I am very happy to be on despite the late(r) start.
Gel is our friend.
Though once our hair gets long enough, we will leave it behind.
Congratulations, keep on growing!
Shawn (Mr.Crow)
Hi Shawn, cheers bud, hope you are not to busy these days. The hair is starting to grow now, and for the first time in my life i have a bit of hair blowing in my face on a windy day in UK. Love it . Hope you are well, all the best, and keep on growing that barnet. Jonny H
Jonny...
The hair is really coming along nicely. It feels good to finally get going doesn't it? Keep up the great work..
Tristan
Hi Tristan, thanks very much mate.Good luck on your own journey, you will have to change your avatar soon. All the best dude,Jonny H.
Hi Jonny,
Congratulations on a great update, and for making it this far, before you know it, the awkward phase will be long behind you, and then it will be clear sailing all the way. Your hair is looking great, you have come a long ways from your buzzcut, I am delighted to see that you are hanging in there. The final reward is WELL worth it, I can assure you of that!
Take care, and keep it growing!
David
Hi David, thanks mate, always nice to hear from you.Yeah, my skinhead days do feel a long while ago, and i dont think there is nothing wrong in a change of look, even a old git like me. That beard of yours has taken off, you look like a different bloke to that short haired dude, standing outside your office . All the best David, Jonny H.
Great progress, Johnny. Your hair is definitely coming along. I see a noticeable difference in length. Your wavy hair will definitely look outstanding at waist length. Have a goal length in mind?
Hi Chris, cheers fella, i dont know about waist length though.I was thinking of more like Sam Elliot, in the "Big Lebowski". Hope life is going well, all the best Jonny H.
Great progress, Jonny. It's starting to take on a life of it's own, which is probably fun and annoying at the same time. :-)
Keep it growing!
Mouse

Coming along nicely Jonny! I didn't give hoot about the awkward stage either. In fact it was a constant reminder that I actually had longer hair!
