Greetings my friends,
I have heard that cold water if better for the hair because it helps to close (it is not a pore, how is it called on hair?) something like a pore, but it is not a pore, since hairs don't have pores. Anyways, what's better when you want to take care of your hair? Cold or Hot water?.

Hot water dries your hair because it strips your hair's natural oil away. I recommend using warm water. After you've conditioned, Rinse off the conditioner with cold water. Cold water seals the hair follicles on your scalp somewhat preventing them from getting clogged with the product. Hair doesn't have "pores". The actual "pores" are on your scalp.
It will only make it dry if you don't use conditioner with warm/cold water afterwards.
That was the word I was looking for.
I heard about washing off condx with colder water, I have been trying that for a couple of days. I feel like hair is better, when I bathe on hot water - I mean, steaming water, the one that blurs the mirror - I feel its too dry. Thanks Chris.

Well hot water with shampoo helps to lift dirt and grease from the hair, lifting the cuticle, the word you were looking for :P
And then cold water with conditioner helps close the cuticle making it smooth and soft.
I agree, --- although I try not to use "super-hot" temperatures EVER on my hair & scalp, if I can help it; but when I need a serious good shampooing, I never hesitate being thorough about it, and using very warm water in order to get the job done as you described above! But, I do always try to end my final rinse-out of conditioner with cool water, --- as cool as I can stand (well, OK, I admit it: unless it's a really hot day, I'm a total wimp about using full -on "cold" water - lol)

Rinse with colder water, thats what I have been trying.
Thanks guys,

I guess if its too hot then the natural oils will be washed away, which isn't something I would relish, I would rather have naturally oily hair then have to always shove conditioner in it.
natural=good
manmade=bad
Cheers Dave
natural=good
manmade=bad
That's a thought to think about, I mean I have a bad habit of using hot water, I just like it. But the times I had to shower myself with just water on ambient temp, it feels refreshing.
Thanks Dave,

Restav, Being the MOR kinda guy I am I'd say warm!

Interesting answers. I use warm water with shampoo--the shampoo is going to strip away the oils and whatnot anyway--and rinse out the condx with cold water. I don't know anything about folicles getting sealed--that may be true (actually not sealed but more like pores getting closed due to contact with low temperature) but I use cold water because it simply does not disolve the conditioner as quickly so some residue is left behind to do what it's supposed to do, coat each hair with silicone.
by the way, cold and warm are relative--by cold I don't mean water from the cold tap only; that would freeze me; it's just colder than warm and less cold in winter : )
Yea I meant to say sealed as in closed temporarily. I did not mean sealed eternally. That would really suck! Bad choice of words I suppose :-(
I would think no higher then body temp. water would be fine.........in fact that has been my way of doing it with the exception if it is so hot out I just want to cool my blood off in the shower. Very hot water I would think not good at all.
Summary: Just as long as you're not freezing nor boiling to death from the water should be fine.
