i want to grow my hair out
but people keep tellin me about how to grow it out
i hear that if u wash it too much you damage it
So i wanted to know what "schedule" u guys use to wash your hair to keep it lookin ya know kick ass
It really depends on your hairtype, i've only been growing for about 4 months now so i wash it every other day but when my hair was longer i could go at least 3-4 days without washing it.
Sometimes i just rinse my hair with water only as it does not wash out all the oils wich shampoo does, and conditioner only can be good sometimes too for some hairtypes.
But just keep trying what works best for you:)

Shampoo + Conditioner every 2/3 days, depending on the heat :)
Basically, it depends on what kind of hair you have. The straighter the hair you have, the more often you need to shampoo it because it gets greasier faster. The curlier your hair is, the less often you need to shampoo it, because curly hair takes longer to get greasy. You see, shampoo cleans your scalp fairly well, but by doing that, it takes away the oils on your scalp, which are what gives your hair its natural shine.
So, if your hair is straight, you might have to shampoo once a day, whereas if it's extremely curly, you might need to shampoo it once every 2 weeks or something. Conditioner is pretty important, too - it basically does the opposite of the shampoo and is the main thing that makes our hair look "kickass," lol. Don't buy those 2-in-1 shampoos and conditioners - get a separate shampoo and a separate conditioner.
If you want the best advice, though, read the FAQ at the top of the page.

yeah thanks
I wash it about every 2 or 3 days now. I only started doing that about a month ago. I used to wash it every day, but that was something left over from my "short hair" days. The natural oils that are left in the hair actually feel good to me now.... its not "dirty" because you dont wash it everyday.... its protected in my opinion. Also depends on what you are doing... so if you sweated a lot that day, you may want to wash it!
