Hey people..
Here is an early picture of Jackson.
Before he had a big afro and somehow he styled it into this..
How did he do that? I want to have a style like that through maintenance stage (aka bad hair phase)
See how its curly and styly.. he used to have an afro so I'm buying the argument his hair naturally does that. I want to see if my hair can have a similar style...
Anyone know??

Jeez, he looked awesome back then. I wish he hadn't gone and cosmetically altered himself, but each to their own.
As to his hair, he likely used some kind of relaxer or texturizer (probably one of those "S-curl" products you can find in the hair section of many stores), or maybe just a lot of mousse and gel. He might have what's called a jheri curl, which can be achieved from using an infamously greasy product called Activator (if it's even still sold today!).
But curly hair that forms an "afro" in the first year of growth doesn't necessarily remain that way throughout. Unless you have genuinely kinky, tightly coiled hair, your curls will eventually drop down once they grow long and heavy enough. And texturizing your hair damages it, so it's not advisable if you plan to have long hair in the long term.
My hair, for example, was initially an afro, but it grows downwards now, and I've never used any straightner or texturizer.

Don't kid yourself, it's anything but natural and takes a LOT of styling work to get it like any of the different looks he's had.
We encourage guys here to let their hair show it's own natural looks instead of spending lots of time and money in an attempt to look like a celebrity and then chuck it all when they get sick of it.
