In my experience, a good conditioner seems way more important than a good shampoo. My scalp gets oily, and it doesn't seem to travel down the hair shaft well, so I lightly shampoo my scalp (and nothing else) almost every day. I've been using Aussie shampoo for a couple years, and I am still satisfied with it. I've also been using Aussie conditioner, but I ran out, and I thought I'd try a new brand this time. I tried Infusium 23, and after two days I like the results... it seems to condition just as well as Aussie, without having to leave it in my hair such a long time and using so much. It also seems to leave my hair with a unique (good) texture, which may have to do with the titular "23 essential pro-vitamins". However, I have noticed that Infusium 23 contains a lot of "'cones", and I am somewhat concerned about that.
Just posting my thoughts, and seeing if anyone has anything to add, or if anyone else has tried Infusium 23 or Aussie conditioner.
A good shampoo is as important as a good conditioner.
If you buy a cheap shampoo it can contain chemicals bad for your hair, it will most certainly alos not clean your hair sufficiently either.
Getting a quality shampoo and conditioner for your hair type will ensure you have the best quality hair you can have.
Yes, that's why I have stuck with Aussie shampoo, but I haven't been worrying about it, either.
I agree with DaPs. I bought the cheap wal mart knock off of pantene thinking it's gotta be almost the same, with Pantene I'm also paying for the advertisements. Not so!! The cheap tuff was not nearly as good and the conditioner left my hair dry and the texture was different. If I don't use Pantene I use Garnier length and strength. I may try infusium 23 though.
Good shampoo and conditioner are worth paying extra for.

In the world of hair care products price has nothing to do with quality. There are dreadful "salon" products. On the other hand, some of the products in the Suave and White Rain lines are excellent and inexpensive.
Because in the U.S., there are no regulations involving marketing claims for hair care products, manufacturers can pretty much say anything they want on their product containers except for one place that is regulated: The list of ingredients. It is important to become educated about product ingredients.
By the way, the "cones" in your Infusum are responsible for your hair's good feel.
Shampooing just the scalp and letting the shampoo residue rinse downward toward the ends of the hair is highly recommended for those
who want to grow their hair very long.
There are two conditioners I would like to recommend...
1. L'Oreal ViVE Pro Smooth Intense Conditioner
2. ViVE Pro Nutri Gloss Conditioner (excellent for those who like
to wear their hair down. I have tried THIS conditioner and it really DOES make your hair shine. Amazing.
Thanks, and yeah, the few times I accidentally shampooed more than just the scalp ended up being really bad hair days. Very frizzy, and actually ends up looking grossly flat and greasy, ironically.
Oil just doesn't seem to want to travel down the hair shaft, even though I produce so much of it.
This is where a good boar bristle brush comes in handy!
I have one. I hardly use it, because it doesn't seem to work for its intended purpose.
