Firstly, my hair still isn't that long but how do you go for a half-tail? Do you push all your bangs to the back when tying or just the middle part of your bangs? <_<;
Quite the nooby question, is it not? Still, I like that look.
It depends on just how much of a half-tail you want. I'm not sure how much of a distinction there is between a half-tail and a top-tail. Anyway, what you do is you select a point on either side of your head. Usually for me this is about an inch under where my hair starts growing. Then you trace your thumbs back across those imaginary lines (equal on both sides) and also try to grab some hair from the middle of your head. Then you tie it.
The hair from the middle of your head should make sure the tail doesn't fall forward and hold it back :)
Good luck.
P.S. If you still can't do it, I can make some photos of myself tying one if you like.
Yup, it totally depends on you. IF you like more hair in the tail you start from the front. Also, if your hair is still quite short sometimes you just don't have a choice (you hate to use your hair from the middle)
You know what, I tried last night and I couldn't really do it at all, not because of a lack of hair but of clumsiness
A sequence photo would be good. My trouble is that I am always grabbing too much hair basically putting most of it into the half tail
Thank you very much for the description, derf. Pics not needed. :P
I tried that but my hair is still too short as it's been growing for only 6 1/2 months. Best wait 4-5 more months and keep that method in mind, right, guys...?
I suppose it depends on how long your hair is now. If i remember correctly, by the time my bangs got down to just below my nose, I could tie a top tail quite well, so I reckon 4-5 months may be a bit too much.
Wow! You're really getting my hopes up! My bangs are just about to reach nose level (it can cover my eyes FULLY now) so I'm real happy to read that post of yours.
Plus, I have straight hair which should be easy to tie. lol
