Greetings to all,
I have just arrived back from a 12 day trip through these parks. I'm still very much awe-inspired by the beauty that I saw. I managed to get a few hair photos along the way in addition to pure nature photos. I shall post 30 photos divided into three sections. It is certainly a lot of photos but I feel that they are worth it..
Yellowstone Falls
Grand Tetons
surrounding countryside
along a trail my friend and I hiked...

My favorite park - Glacier...
the mountain goats are very tame there...

Jason, thank you for posting all of the truly stellar
photos that YOU are factored in way out in Glacier!
Awesome, awesome, awesome. And the magnificence of the
natural setting is pretty nifty, too ( *grin* )
Can't wait to (but I guess I'll have to) make as good
of a braid again as you can. Once again, Jason, stellar!
In longhaired camaraderie,
Quenyan (+:-)}
Hey Jason,
TERRIFIC pics there!!!! Glacier National Park happens to be a personal favorite of mine as well... I spent a good part of 2 summers out near there, in the little town of Whitefish, MT (near Kalispell), when I was in my early 20s. I helped a friend and her husband with their cabin they were building for themselves at the time (although unfortunately, they are no longer married now), as well as knew another family that lived right across the road. Both summers that I visited the area, I made a point to spend the whole day on that famous "Going to the Sun Highway" (I think I have the name correct, --- it's the main road that goes East-West through Glacier park)... SPECTACULAR!!! I still have pics from then (but need to scan them over at Bill's house some day, since I don't own a scanner).
Anyway, your pics of the Grand Tetons, and of Yellowstone Falls & Park, were equally awesome, --- the West just has a way of feeling like you can take in a deep, fresh breath of air, and then exhale it with a big, "Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!" Montana is often called, "Big Sky Country", --- and it sure as hell looks exactly like that, doesn't it?!!
Thanks again for sharing such beautiful photos!!
- Ken
I lived in Montana for several years. It's much nicer to visit than to live there. Same is true of the part of Canada I'm originally from. Whitefish is especially cold. Glacier is actually the only park I've seen so good to know people like it best, lol. And it is Going-to-the-Sun road.
Hi Jason,
You have posted fabulous pictures before, but these ones take the cake for the BEST photos you have ever posted, and possibly the best photos anyone has ever posted to the MLHH. What can I say about the magnificence of the scenery in these parts of the world you were blessed to visit, but words are not enough here.
Years ago, I used to live in Calgary, but only from the ages of 4 to 8. One summer, our family did get to Glacier National Park, but I was so young then, and we did not get to that much of it, that I have serious regrets of not seeing more, and remembering more, at the time. But I hope to return some day, and would love to visit all of the locations you have visited here. It looks as though I may have to take more than one road trip in the future to take everything in that the USA has to offer, but thankfully, retirement is only a yaer away.
And lest I forget, your hair is just as awesome as it always is.
All the best,
David
I concur, Jason, those photos were fabulous! Absolutely beautiful! Glacier has to be the most beautiful place in the U.S., although the Grand Tetons certainly come in a close second place.
I have always been amazed, David, at how on the U.S. side of the park you see nothing but American license plates and on the Canadian side nothing but Canadian ones. The border crossing is in an isolated place and I've never seen a line of more than a few cars there! It is so easy to cross, and to see the whole park!
The picture of me above was taken on the international boundary line, about four miles south of Waterton townsite in 1995, one year before I began to let my hair grow all the way out. I had camped the night before in Waterton, lulled to sleep by a father and his longhaired son quietly playing their acoustic guitars at a nearby campsite. A memorable vacation for sure!
Bill
Hi Bill,
Sorry I nearly missed your post as it had scrolled down the board, but great picture there!
I may have a chance to include S. Alta/N Montanna (and Waterton/Glacier) in my road trip, along the return portion after I have driven along the coast through Calif/Oregon/Wash/BC, then the swing back East. I really regret not remembering more about the time I was there in the late 1950's, but I would have only been 5 or 6 then.
David
Absolutely spectacular shots, Jason! It looks like you definitely enjoyed yourself out here in the wild west. The photos of Yellowstone and the Tetons make me wonder why I would ever want to not move back up to Wyoming eventually, as those truly are some of the most gorgeous places in this country.
Great to have you back on the site! =)

Hi Jason looks like you had a great time out west.I just returned from Arizona a couple weeks ago and the scenery there was outstanding as well just with a desert landscape.Very hot too I may add but it really didn't bother me all that much.Someday I'd like to visit that area too as I've never been to any of those parks which truely has natural beauty. Also your hair or course looks outstanding both loose and braided.Yes I agree you should get your friend to grow his hair so maybe you'll have to work on him a bit.Anyway glad you both had fun as I wish I was right there with you!Mark
Your photos are excellent!
Spectacular, esp. the picture w/ the mountain goat! I'm envious, I love that part of the country.
Arnold
The different hairstyles are nice, as is the beautiful view. Loved the mountain goat. And your hair is such a gorgeous chestnut color.

I hope you had fun.
Absolutely spectacular pictures Jason! I was out to Teton 30 years ago, and I always wanted to see Glacier. Thank you for the beautiful pictures.
(Great hair pictures, btw)

Great pics, Jason!!!
Thanks for sharing them with everyone. They're magnificent. I'm sure the photos didn't really do it justice since they can't capture the whole panorama. It must have been some sight. Also liked you being able to document your hair length at the same time...GENIUS!
Glad you had a good time. It's always been a dream of mine to hit Yellowstone. I hate to get religious here, but these places definitely make you believe in a higher power.
Take care and keep it growin'!
Brett
Wow, what an amazing place, thanks for posting these picture Jason, really great.
Oh, my....
I'd actually been wondering where you were, but I figured you might return with something awesome like this. "Awesome" isn't even enough of a word; try "sublime." Jeez, I would give almost anything to visit there, to experience the same awe of Nature. When you look at the grandeur, the sheer magnitude, and the raw force and splendor of the natural world, it's just unthinkable that anyone could seek to destroy it for money (especially when they have more than enough to get by already) or, perhaps worse, just for the heck of destroying it.
On a different note, the hair goes greatly with the pics! Everything looks really cinematic. In the half-tail pic facing the mountains, you could pass for a traveling elf or something in LOTR.
Thanks for sharing these!
Peace
Hello Jason,
Those are some beautiful pictures one of the best National parks i think. Your hair looks amazing as always, my compliments to you.
Kevin

And your hair... yes, GORGEOUS =D
Beautiful scenery for sure there... you could use a couple of those as picture postcards.
Hi Jason,
Glad to see you made it back safely home and had a great time as well. These photos have the quality of cameraship that one would see in a book. Good job. Also, the scenery is so very magnificent that you captured. Of course, the hair compliments it all! A memorable experience for sure.
OK, how did you get the mountain goat to pose?
Bragi
Very beautiful pics Jason! The scenery is amazing:D
I used to have a classmate who lives in Billings, Montana and he has been to the Yellowstone national park, maybe someday i will visit him, and then i could see the place as well:)
Oh, and you did you happen to seen any grizzy bears in any of these place, as i know that they are quite common there?:D
Simon
Hi Jason, that part of the country has to be one of the most beautiful places in existance. Your hair is looking great too.
Absalom
