I've always lost hair in the shower....
But now it seems when i brush through my hair with my fingers very gently, even more hairs are falling out, and when i very gently pull on the longest hairs with barely any force at all -- about 2 hairs come out at a time!!
I'm really worried...
is this usual??

Do you have a family history of MPB (male pattern baldness)?
If so (and you are over 18), I would recommend getting on Propecia (generic) and Rogaine asap. Both are very inexpensive and effective.
Without these drugs, I believe I would have lost a lot of hair.
Just a thought.
Peace.

I can well understand your worry about this present condition as I would be worried myself if the same suddenly started to happen to me.
Why not see a dr. right away this week and then you will know what or what not you are dealing with. It is better to know than walk around worried.
Best of luck to you.
Neohippy is correct. Propecia and Rogaine 5% are probably going to be your best choice. I use Rogaine 5% (5% minoxidil) and have had no problems, however, I wash and condition my hair on a daily basis, furthermore, you need to use Rogaine 5% twice daily. If you do not use Rogaine as directed you will not likely see results. Also, you need to use Rogaine and/or Propecia for several months to determine as to whether, or not, it is effective. Either way, you need to see a Dermatologist as soon as you can.
Oh, and you will probably like the Rogaine foam much better than the liquid.
Good luck.
Jeffrey.
In the previous post you said that youve had your hair straightened before? Have u had it done recently. Believe it or not that can make your hair fall out, not just break.
