I'm tempted to cut my hair, please advise.
Keith
Wait just a garl darned second here, Keith!
You have a wonderful length AND your colour is legend. We shan't ALLOW you to sheer your tresses! Why, what were you even CONTEMPLATING?! A momentary lapse of reason per chance?
Nope, nope, nope! We here at the hyperboard will NOT be parcel to your chopping your locks. You possesss a MOST classic look for the man. Do NOT, repeat, do NOT do it. Why wouldst thou mar thee good looks?/!
An aficianado of the longer-tressed type,

With such fantastic hair as that
i'd think about all those who strive to get to your position, and then think about being one of them once again.
Is that something to pay for?
I don't think it's my place to tell another person what he "should" or "shouldn't" do with his own body. That said, I will be more than happy to recount some of my own feelings from the time when, more than 12 years ago, I cut off my own long hair, which I am only now finally preparing to regrow. The following is actually cut & pasted from another posting I made earlier today:
When I was 19, I cut off my long hair (to get into the military, which subsequently denied me entrance due to a minor eye defect!). Immediately--and I mean IMMEDIATELY--upon cutting it, I felt as though a great surge of power had left me. Even as evidenced by the before-and-after pictures, I looked like a big, strong, young man when I still had the hair. In a photograph taken just moments later, my hair shorn, I looked (and felt) frail. Now, I don't believe there was any sort of bio-physical process that caused this phenomenon. Physically, other than the removal of my hair, my body didn't actually change. Yet, I think the body, spirit, and heart-mind are an inseparable whole. What happens to one, affects the other. In shearing my hair, I was altering a part of myself that was physical, yet also imbued with tremendous spiritual and emotional meaning. I was becoming "less myself," and in doing so, sacrificing some of my own personal power.
When it comes to something like this, I think it is up to yourself to decide as you know best deep inside how you are feeling about your own hair. And your own happiness is what really counts. In other words, what's inside yourself is really telling you.
But one very important point: "why" are you tempted to cut your hair? If we know that, we are then at a much better advantage to give advice.
Hi Keith,
Need you ask, I would give you a firm NO, do not cut it! Your hair looks awesome, keep growing it for sure.
All the best,
David
Methinks longer hair would look cool on you. Kinda medievalish look, but still cool.

I don't think that anyone here would tell you to go ahead and cut your hair, including me. I would just remind you that what took you years to grow, will take years to grow again if you cut it and regret it!

Keith: NEVER cut your hair. You are a very attractive guy with that awesome hair! Please be STRONG and keep it LONG. :)
Why are you tempted to cut it?
Animosity,
I fear I may have discouraged you in my earlier post suggesting that you stick to quality jewelry. I would never want to discourage anyone with such a fine masculine mane. Do not cut. Of course long hair is a bit more trouble, but so is brushing our teeth. If you cut, you are sure to regret and have to go through the growing process again.
But if you are naturally a short hair, then who am I to discourage you. But I fear that you are giving into the social pressure that has been exerted on long haired men since the Army required short hair in WW I for louse control.
That pressure is over, and we are now free to be who we are.

Hide the scissors! Avoid the salons and barber shops! DO NOT GIVE INTO THE TEMPTATION! 8-O
Please? :-)
Carol
Don't.
Just as long as it is only one of them...
But seriously, if you ask me, then do not cut.
Hi Keith, it's up to you and you have a choice. I really think you have very nice hair. Why are you tempted to cut it? -Mac
WHY? Having achieved this social power, why would you be willing to give it up? How do you want it to look different, except longer?
Hi Keith.
Whaty is the reason you feel tempted to cut? You certainly have what many would consider to be, ideal" hair...
- Ken in San Francisco
I'll go out on a limb and be different.
If it really drives you nuts that bad then cut it if you must.
I'm not advising you to cut it but at the end of the day it's a choice you have to make. You grow your hair out for you because you want to, not to please or impress others. We will of course urge you not to but only you can decide. So the question boils down to this.
Do YOU want longhair or not? If the answer is yes then don't cut it. If the answer is not really then go get the scissors.
Sorry if this seems blunt it's not meant to offend. I just tell it like it is sometimes.
Kevin
