What can humidity do to your hair??
i live in a humid place and i want to know.. what can it do and how can i prevent it
I'm wondering the same, as
i'll be going to Florida next month, and apparently it's very humid...
I live in Florida.. its just i dont know what the humidity does to your hair.. and i want to see if it has any effect on my hair now
Probably it does nothing, and its better than completely dry environment, the hair shouldn't get damaged (though they probably doesn't look best). Just watch out to not get any skin irritation from that humidity (like itchy scalp).
Humidity is devastating. It causes a rare scalp and skin disorder.(Undetectable By Doctors!) The symptoms are very unpleasant, Heck, They are fatal. At first, You will notice an eruption on your skin, Especially on the scalp! This symptom is followed by tooth decay and nausea. The middle stage(Yes, Middle. Thought The First Was Bad, Wait Until You Hear This) Is even more unpleasant. You will notice that your hair will start to fall out in clumps. Then, You will notice that your stomach begins to bloat excessively. the last symptom is the worst. Are you ready? You explode!
Ok seriously, Humidity has no harmful effects on your hair. Humidity WILL make your hair look like a disaster, Especially if it's curly, But I am certain it doesn't have any harmful effects on your hair. I recommend you stay away from gel and hairspray altogether. they only make matters worse in humid muggy weather. I know, I live in Florida too. Whatever you do, Be wary of the Sun! The Sun CAN cause damage if exposed for a really long time. Not only to your hair, But your skin as well. GOOD LUCK MY FELLOW FLORIDIAN!
It just makes it frizzy and less straight; more wavy.
About all you can do (if you want to do anything about it) is stay where the air is dry, in other words, indoors where it's air conditioned or run a dehumidifier, and when driving run the a/c.
The first thing to do is loose the term humidity. I much
prefer to use the dew point as an indicator. A des point
of 63 is uncomfortable, a dew point of over 70 is downright
sultry.
