Hi ya'll,
I stumbled upon your website quite by accident and well, I am moved to write a note to encourage all of you.
I'm a woman with waist length hair, who LOVES long hair on men. I think it's terrific that a website exists for men to ask/answer questions about lengthening hair.
When growing out my hair from short-medium to really long (in my 20s), I had several women friends who provided encouragement, tips, and even just a "hold on and let IT GROW" support.
So, to anyone who reads this: do your best, hold on, and LET IT GROW!
Regular short trims (to eliminate split ends) and conditioning help a great deal! and if you don't care for your natural "look" consider permanent waves, straightening, or colors! I see my hair dresser every 4 or 5 weeks; I regularly receive compliments from complete strangers on my hair...because it's such a beautiful, "natural" look. Yes, I believe in better living through chemicals...Clairol.
My most erotic experience is one that I remember mostly because I ran my hands through his waist length, black and gray, very thick, hair. "Afterwards" I showed him a few things how to tie up his hair for a quick shower, e.g. things make day-to-day living a lot easier. That shower was one that I will never forget. ;-) Lord I miss that man!
It amazes me how many women think that long hair is too much trouble. Oh Please! Don't put down what you don't really understand.
I cut my hair about every 3 months, I color it (to eliminate gray - gray and blonde are UGLY together), and I perm it about once a year. Oh, and I wash it once every 7 days and I NEVER have bed-head in the morning. (Which I had all the time with shorter hair.)
If the weather is cool and dry, I slip in rollers for 5-10 minutes, then with a brush and hair-spray! Voila! the hubby is happy and so am I. On a moist, ugly day, hey that's when I wear a pony-tail or another updo. But my prep time on any given day is less than 10 minutes...sometimes less than ONE minute.
I hope anyone reading this understands that I'm saying as another long-haired person-- "Go for it" or "enjoy it"!!! Long hair can be a wonderful part of your life. Not many people really bother to grow their hair to a really LONG length, so they really don't understand.
Don't look to friends or family who don't have long hair for encouragement. They don't understand...and probably won't have any constructive advice anyway.
Go live your life...and if you like, imagine someone you're romantically involved with dragging their fingers through your hair! It certainly turned me on!
Ironically, my husband of 7 years (whom I adore) is bald!!!
Life is too weird, isn't it?

Hi DfromTexas,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to you, I am delighted you have found us. All of us here at the hyperboard appreciate the support of women who like long hair on men, and we already have a number of wonderful women members in our community. Perhaps, if you feel comfortable enough doing so, you might even share with us a picture of your waist length hair sometime, I am sure you have beautiful hair!
All the best,
David
Hi DfromTexas, Welcome! I think its' fantastic that there are women that support men AND women with long hair. I find generally that the same women who are not supportive of long hair on men think they are the fashion police for hair styles on women also. I say this is America! Freedom of choice means freedom to growin your hair as long as you want it! (Oops, sorry about the soapbox.)
Any way, Welcome
Bruce
