Hey Bro's and Sistahs. Passed the 2 yr. mark last week. Thought I'd post a braid pic for my update this time. Been riding the MC a lot this summer and getting tons of tangles. The braid eliminates that and looks pretty cool too (IMHO). Can't wait til' its about mid back but I'm not complaining. Was swimming yesterday and a woman friend was like "your hair is SO LONG when it's wet...I had no idea it was getting so long." I was like..."dig it!" BTW, can you wash your hair with the braid in, dry your hair and go... or is it best to take it out first? Thanks for the input! B-URSLF...Bruce'ster
Hey Bruce, That is one mean braid man. I dig it!
And congrats for passing the two year mark!
Keep on keeping on.
~Chris
Yo Bro: Thanks! Hard to believe it's been 2 years. Time flies when you're having fun....and this community does make it fun (despite the awkward stage)! Take er' easy - Bruce'ster
Bruce, that braid looks awesome! Glad you found such a classy solution to the tangling problem.
Keep growing, braiding, and being "urself"!
Mouse
Hey M-O-U-S-E: Thanks! Never thought of it as being classy...but come to think of it, it DOES take class and style to B-ONE'S SELF! Take Care - Bruce'O'rama
Wow Bruce'ster you rock! Great braid.....long hair forever, man!
Thanks Jason: Means a lot coming from you...the Braid'meister! B'ster
Braids are a great way to manage hair when needed. And I bet it looks kewl having the braid flyin' behind you while riding the MC. I don't see any reason why you couldn't wash the hair braided, but you would have to undo it every few days and re-braid it, as the braid will loosen up, and stray hairs will work their way out. You might want to use less shampoo, so you can rinse the suds out.
Carol
Hey Carol: Thanks. I think it looks pretty kewl sticking out from behind the helmet. I did wash it last night. I was careful to rinse out the shamp/cond. It still looks good this morning so I'll keep it in at least another day. Sure to get some stares and comments from people I know around town. Have an awesome week. Braid'ster
That's a very nice braid; I think your moustache is looking good too.
What kind of a motorcycle do you ride? I have a Suzuki GS500 myself.
Hey Man: Thanks. I ride a VN 1500 Classic; It's a cruizer..you know, spoke wheels, wide white walls, two tone paint. I've always wanted to ride a sport bike like yours. It would be awesome to take one on a closed course and get some training. I love watching the SuperBike series...a big fan of Italian rider Valentino Rossi. Ride On Dude: Bruce'ster
VERY nice braid. It just looks very....neat. Did you braid it yourself? And congrats on the two year mark, keep it growing :)
Thanks derf26: I've really enjoyed wearing it this way the last few days. I went to a kid's birthday party this evening. Lot's of older folks (grand'dads/grandmom's)there. I'm sure they were checking it out. In a way it was a good reality check. In the blink of an eye we'll all be senior citizens (me sooner than you - lol). Hopefully we won't look back and regret not doing things we wanted to do; growing our hair included. Later Bro - Bruce'ster
Cool braid Bruce'ster!! Congratulations on making it look good. I've tried a couple of times, but it only looked good once. Its' tough to get the brain's message down to the fingers when twisted behind, eh?
Bruce (the other Bruce)
Hey Bruce: Thanks buddy. Yeah, sometimes I just give up but other times I get it just right. I have a female friend who helps me out on occasion (with the braid too......LOL) Anyway, I've always like braids and glad I can sport one again. Bruce'ster
Well done there Bruce'ster!!
A serious braid in two years is quite an achievement !!
Thanks for Sharing
WWT
Hey WWT: Thanks man. I'm pleased with the length after only 2 years. I've taken better care of it this time around and had no trims. Think I'm ahead of the game compared to last time. Cheers Mate: Bruce'ster
Hi Bruce'ster,
Your braid ROCKS, what an awesome job you have done!!! Where did you learn how to do such an outstanding braid, I have tried, but the hand motions are SO difficult. (Althogh I admit that I have not been practicing as much as I should be) And I can only imagine when you DO have a braid mid way down your back, or even down to your waist.
Take care, and keep it growing!
David
Hey Brah: What was I thinking? I meant "a braid to my waist" not mid back...(LOL) Anyway, glad you liked it. I've tried only a few recently and wasn't too impressed but this one really looks great. I measured it at about 8 inches from the tie! Have a good week man. BTW, like your new avatar a lot! B'
The braid looks very cool and well done as its so neat. You must have some experience doing them as it looks perfect.Maybe someday I'll figure out how to do one as it would be fun to see what I look like with braided hair.Nice hair too BTW!Mark
Hey Mark: Thanks! Your hair is awesomely long and would look great in a braid. Actually, I was feeling all proud of mine and walked into a place and saw a guy (also with grey hair) with a braid almost to his waist. Wasn't feeling so proud of mine after that but....someday....: Take care bro - Bruce
Haha, excellent braid, my friend! I wish I could do it that well, but my braids neary always get tangled up halfway through. You ever tried double braids like Willie Nelson's? For some reason, I think they might suit you.
About the hair being longer swimming - I totally know what you mean! Girls tell me that almost every time my hair gets wet. I love it, lol.
As for the washing, I don't know for sure, but I think it's better to unbraid your hair before washing, so as to make sure the conditioner and shampoo don't get stuck in the braid.
Peace, dude!
Hey dude! Thanks! Yes, I dig Willie's braids. My single braid just barely reaches around the side of my neck. His hangs way down his chest. It'll take a while before I can do 2 long ones but someday hopefully.
My hair isn't nearly as curly as yours but the difference when wet is really noticeable. I bet I have at least another 2 inches. Sometimes I wonder what my hair would look like if straight but I'm not about to try and straighten it; heard too many horror stories.
I did wash it like this last night and was careful to rinse it well. Don't think there's any harm in doing it that way but I'll untie it today or tomorrow to let it "breath."
Take Care Bro: Bruce'ster
This braid you've done looks so neat and convenient for many things. I really like it and it looks good.
Did you do it yourself?
Bragi
Hey Bragi: Thanks mate! It IS convenient. I think I may wear it this way more often. It isn't that hard to do with a mirror. I put it in a tail first and then braid that part. That seems to work best for my hair cuz' it's thick/wavy. It also holds the shorter side pieces in place. Cheers: Bruce'ster
Looks great Bruce! Can't wait til the day i can pull of a braid like that:)
Simon
Hey Simon: Thanks man! Your day will come soon. I can't believe it's been 2 years already. Hope you're enjoying the ride as much as I am. Bruce'ster
That is quite a cool style Bruce'ster! And it's practical too, how often does that happen :) Quite a cool biker look there you will make the other guys jealous lol
Also pleased your lady friends are diggin it too, can't go wrong there :) Take care
Hey Chris: How've you been man? Thanks for the reply. I was feeling pretty cool on the MC last weekend when I stopped for some gas. I went inside to pay and there was a guy with about the same color hair as mine in a LONG braid; easily past mid back. I wasn't feeling so COOL after that but it gives me something to shoot for. I should've walked over and complimented him on it but didn't get the chance. Take it easy bro - MC'man
Bruce'ster ...
The braid looks great man. Your hair is coming along nicely. Keep up the great work..
Peace..
Tristan
Yo Tristan: Thanks man! Always nice to get positive feedback.
Take er' easy - Bruce'ster
Looking great there Brucie Baby! That is one cool and very neat braid, guess I need to wait a little longer. Take care and keep experimenting dude!!
Regards Dave
Hey Nut'job! Thanks brother. I really enjoyed wearing that braid the last few days. Finally took it out this morning and my hair is all over the D#@! place now. Think I'll have to put it back up real soon. Bruce'ster
