so i woke up this morning to my kitten having a riot of a time playing with a strand of hair that went over the side of the bed.
then i was running a bit late for work, and as i was using the lint roller (the sticky kind), my hair got caught in it. not pleasant. :(
as i got in my car i shut my hair in the door and didn't notice until i reached for something in the back seat and ripped out a few hairs. owie!
on my lunch break i rolled it up in the car window.
and if that wasn't enough, as i was eating and reading, my hair got in my fork and i got a nice bite of it.
it's days like these that i'm tempted to hack it back up to shoulder length. ...and the day is only half over!
long hair truly has set backs now and then. see what some of you have to look forward to?

Im sorry to hear you having suck a bad day.
About a month ago I was driving my aunts convertable. When I was stopped at a redlight the wind blew a piece of my hair onto the windshield. Not being familiar with the car, I reached to turn on the hadlights and actually turned the wippers on. Needless to say, the wippers yanked the heck out of a few hairs.
I think I'll leave the convertables for the short haired.

You could always try putting the hair up in a tight up hairdo like a bun or a braid or wear a hat...or go with pigtails...just joking about that one...those things might get in the way more

he gave me a henna tattoo of a tribal octopus. it was pretty awesome. and since i got super burned that day, it lasted forever as a white octopus.
i have two real tats, though. one on the back of my right ankle that says 'made in china,' and one on the side of my left leg that is the chinese symbols for 'retarded sister.' (note to self: never let a sister pick out a tattoo ever again.)
LOL. I'll keep that advice in mind.
And, yes, like Carol said, you look really cute with pigtails. :) When I try pigtails, they look like supersized black cotton balls or something. Dangerous things.

thanks! so yours look like afro puffs? i used to cry when i was in third grade because i couldn't have hair like my friend shanequa. i couldn't understand why it wasn't possible for my mom to take me to the salon and have it changed. :)

i thought it was pretty funny, too. that's why i shared. eventually i gave up and put it in a bun (succsessfully poking an eye). it just wasn't my day.
but now all the short hairs know what dangers await them! bwahahahaha!

this is the best i could do with my camera phone. but i couldn't find anything recent on the computer where i wasn't in a bikini, and i'm not about to post that. (sorry, boys)

five years ago it was butt length (like it is now) and i had it cut to just past my shoulders. since then, i've had two trims that took off between 2-3 inches, and a trim a year ago that took off 4-5 inches. since that trim i've gained about 7 inches. now i have to do math... um... forget it. someone else can figure out how fast it grows, but i know it's above the average.
You do have terrific hair Nic, glad you posted it. Now to stop thinking about bikini updates ;)
Well, just for not posting a picture of you in a bikini, the rest of us won't post pictures of us in bikinis. So, that's a good thing, I guess...
But yeah, I understand. Tossing a picture of a beautiful longhaired girl in a bikini amongst a bunch of longhaired men seems risky, especially if that girl is yourself.

My cat, being as old as I am (minus a year) doesn't feel like playing with it so much (plus it ain't really that long) but the old momma cat's thought of me as her kitten ever since I found her, so she washes my hair at least once a week. Then I wake up with one lock sticking out at some weird angle and all tangled. lol Cats . . .

I had a dog who, like Christian's cat, would lick my hair obcessively, so that in the morning I sometimes had a pretty severe "cow" lick. I haven't had the pleasure or danger of getting my hair caught in anything other than my headset. I have a ways to go still.

I am SO sorry to hear that you had a bad hair day, but isn't that just the way sometimes, it seems that there are those days when everything that could possibly go wrong, will go wrong. That's Murphy's Law for you. But I KNOW you will have a better day tomorrow.
But PLEASE do not cut off your beautiful hair. Both you and your hair look absolutely wonderful. I also had a chance to see your hair in the pictures you posted for some of my fellow MLHH members, and it is just LOVELY hair, and again, PLEASE do not cut it!

Thank you for reminding me of that, I had totally forgotten about getting into the long haired scientist's group. I still don't know if I have enough credentials, my name is on a few scientific papers, but I have never written any of my own. I don't know if just working in a lab and getting one or two mentions in a paper is enough to join. I am hardly a PhD, all I have is Master's degree in chemistry. When I get some of the information sorted out, I will try to get back to you.

Wow, and here I thought getting it caught in the shoulder straps on my bra in the morning was annoying.
Oh, and the picture with the cat is hilarious! I'm just glad my kitty gave up grooming my head once my hair was longer than a couple inches.
