Very recently(day before school in fact)I cut my hair to my hairline in the back. I had a mullet(where it was a few in. below the shoulders in the back, eye length in the front, and ear length on the sides). My brother and his friend kept encouraging me to cut my hair so everything would look even. I made it unlayered in the back. I kind of miss my long tresses now. I want to ask, was this a good idea? And also, my hair is REALLY thick, so I would only gain 3 in. of hair instead of the usual 6 in a year. Do you have any tips to grow it longer faster? BTW, I am 12.
Maybe I should have been a bit clearer. They were giving me tips on how to grow good LONG hair, like those guys on the Samson page. They were suggesting that I should cut it evenly now so that it would look better later(you know, all even and stuff). They were actually suggesting an undercut too, but I drew the line there. The only thing I regret about doing this is that I can't put my hair into a ponytail anymore.
Undercuts are the antithesis of mullets and much to be preferred? Maybe you should try an undercut.
Undercuts I think work good with thick wavy hair. Just don't cut too
high. Mine seems to work well but I don't cut higher than 1" above
my ears. Note: that's 1" above where the ear attaches to the head,
not the top of the ear.
Maybe I should have been a bit clearer. They were giving me advice about growing my hair long, so that it would look even later. My hair wasn't exactly Joe Dirt style, but it was still a mullet. Actually, my hair at the lower back were curling upwards, so I kind've wanted to cut that off too. The only thing I regret about this is that I can't but my hair into a ponytail anymore.
