Silly question probably,
To tie a half-tail, which I have never been able to do despite having plenty of hair for it, I should have a smaller elastic right?
I mean smaller than one would use for a tail that includes all the hair on the head.
I'd watch a video on youtube of somebody tying a half-tail, if my searches on youtube for "half-tail" led to anything more than 70 videos about squirrels
Not necessarily a smaller elastic, as I use the same one for both a tail and half-tail. I just use those little Goody brand black metal-free bands, and they work perfectly.
A half-tail really isn't too difficult. I simply brush my hair back that's above my ears (while still allowing for a part, though this is optional), grab it into a tail, and tie it. My bangs are still a little short, however, so those fall down in the front, but that adds to the style, I think. If you think that there's not enough hair still hanging down in back, then feel free to pull a little bit out of the bottom of the tie with your finger.
Hope that helps. =)
