I just had a trim of 1/4 of an inch today to combat the frizzies and just for experimentation, I asked my stylist to straighten my hair and it has come off brilliantly. It's not as dense as before but it looks really different and i'm liking it loads. Just thought i'd leave a few new pics to update everyone that may be interested. Comment and critique all you want as it is always appreciated.
Hi again, Crimson Ace,
Welcome back to the hyperboard! (again!) I did comment on your other photos in the thread you started further down the board as well, and don't know if you have read them or not. I also wanted to say that your hair looks awesome after the trim, and the straight hair looks super as well.(just be sure to straighten in moderation, with heat protection conditioner applied before doing it) I also gave instructions (I have attached a link to the form needed to get listed again) in your thread below asking how to re-join the hyperboard, and looking forward to having you back with us again.
All the best,
David
Thanks David yeah I did read the comments and I have submitted the application so hopefully I will crop up on the users list soon and have myself once again as a recognised member. I really appreciate the compliments and yeah i'll only have it straightened here and there. Hope you're well?
Hi again, Crimson Ace,
Thanks for asking how I am doing these days. I am doing VERY well right now, and am on vacation for the next 2 1/2 weeks. I just celebrated my 54th birthday, so the old man is just a little older, but I don't know if I can say any wiser, lol!
Take care,
David
I have to agree it does look "brilliant"! I've never straightened my hair so I'm not an expert, but others here have said that if straightening is done to excess that you could damage your hair. So I guess if done in moderation then you should be ok. It does look great.
Bruce
Thankyou Scooper, yeah the heat protection serum that was applied to my hair this time avoided and damage and luckily it came out for the best, I'm only going to do it every so often as I am as parnoid as anyone here about not frying/breaking my hair, I'm hoping I have another growth spurt and for everyone to achieve their goals for hair growth and otherwise, long hair forever!
I really like it a lot! What kind of straightening method did your stylist use? It certainly works for you. =)

Well I had a smoothing cream put over it first and then a follow up of heat protection before having straighteners put through the length of my hair whilst drying, it seems to have really tamed the frizz and I really trust my local salon as they will only ever do as much as I ask them to do without going overboard and a best friend who also has long hair cuts it for me. I'm glad that I am free of the concerns of overzealous scissorhappy barbers who will happily hack off as much hair as they can. Thanks for the kind words James as they are very reassuring! Keep it growing dude!
Your hair looks fabulous as well as absolutely brillant! Yes, I know all about the "Straightening" bit, but every now and then I hardly think is going to hurt your hair all that much. Besides, having long-very long hair is suppose to be fun!
Glad you are "enjoying" your hair rather then worrying about it to the extent so many do. Of course, this worry is because they cherish their hair. But, sometimes I think it can go just a bit overboard.
Your hair looks great. Hopefully the straightening process did not damage you hair.

Nope the hair seems to have lost all of the summertime frizzies that have been plaguing me for the majority of the summer so far and it feels impoosibly soft which is awesome, plus it's growing pretty fast too which is always a ressuring sign. Thanks and keep the hair growing!
Your hair look fabulous. I can see the hairdresser knew what they were doing. The trim and straightening both turned up really well. I personally like the natural fuller look better but this look suits you extremely well too. Great update, Thanks for sharing it with us.
Take Care
Cheers Chris I also like the natural waviness, I just thought that I should try this style atleast once and it feels absolutely fantastic and soft without any frizz. You're not doing too bad yourself there dude and keep growing too, hopefully the next goal of midback won't be too far away.
Is that your natural hair color? If it is, you are blessed to have such a lovely shsde of blonde. You look good.
Carol
Wow I have seen some of your other pics but I must say this look realy good.
I perfer strate hair on most people any way ...
Big Change! I looked back down at the other picture and concluded that the lips were a little redder in the top one, more contrast I think. Anyways, I think it looks good, but post a few more pics so we can get a better idea of how it looks. I do think you're someone who's able to carry that look.
Glad you're back as well,
-Christian Epp
Looks good that way, I really like the color of your hair, simply fantastic!
wow. you look like an entirely different person. i think i prefer you hair in it's natural state, but this is fun, too!
peace,
nic
