I'm posting this question not to get into a debate on how good or bad layering looks. I am interested in a new look for my long curly locks and something a bit more manegable without giving up length. I have seen layered looks on guys with straight hair and I think it looks kinda cool. However, my hair is quite curly. Can layering working on curly hair? I'm told it can if you find the right stylist who takes extra time to do it right.
I just wanted some opinions here. This the best place to find the answer!

Yes, layering does work on curly hair. And you were told correctly that you need to find the right stylist who will take the time to do it right. For some reason that escapes me, most stylists consider curly hair difficult to work with...personally, I don't.
hello there!!
I have a very curly hair and got it layered 4 months ago and it looks great so dont believe when people say that your hair has to be staright to be layered. About the hairstiller most of them just dont want to waist the time needed to do layeres in curly hair because it takes a bit long then in straight hair. When I layered my hair the woman who was doing it spend an hour telling me that to have that hair cut I would have to straigh my hair EVERY DAY! I love my dearly beloved curls even if they are high maintenance! I told her that yes I would staright my hair everyday and she started to cut it more enthusiastically...
take care!
