Hey no one probably remembers me since I dropped off of the face of the earth two years ago but my hair is still long and was about 6 inches longer a couple weeks ago (had to trim scraggly ends off). This is 4.5 years of growth (I think I've reached terminal length.
I was wondering if it wasn't too much trouble if someone could try to photoshop what I would look like with keith urbans hair cut because I'm planning on cutting my hair like his. Thanks!
Here is a picture of Keith Urban http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2006/11/09/urban_narrowweb__300x540,0.jpg
Dude.... you look hot! Great look!
Dude the hair is phenomenal!!!
I remember you because you used to have the first name in the directory haha
*your hair looks better than Keith Urbans!!!
*you really wouldn't cut it like that though... would you?
Hey Aaron, nice to see you're still around.
Hi Aaron, I remember you from about the time I first found this place. I think your hair looks great as is, but of course, its' your hair so you need to do what makes you happy, if that is what you really want. That's what I thought I wanted back in Dec 2000, so I cut my long hair thinking that I was done with that experience, but within a month I was envious of anyone that had a long mane. I didn't overcome the negative pressure not to grow until 2005 and now I feel I have returned.
So give it a lot of thought, examine what really bothers you about its' length, maybe trim up a few inches more before taking the big plunge.
Good luck and welcome back,
Bruce
Hi Aaron, I remember you. Your hair looks great. Just lovely. Are you sure you want to cut off 3/4 of it? It would be sad to ruin such a nice mane. What takes years to grow takes only minutes to destroy. Most people here who cut live to regret it later on.

For Aaron
Sorry for the sloppy Photoshop work but at least it gives you an idea of what you might look like. To be honest with you Aaron my hair is your length and almost the same color too and I can't even imagine my self with out it. While spending a few minutes here working on your picture I actually felt a bit guilty taking off your hair because it really does look great! For me its part of my character and the way I am and distinguish my self from others and distinguish my self. Is there a particular reason you want to cut it off? Anyway I hope it helps n whatever decision you make. Take care longhairedone Steve
Hi Longhairdone
For the past 6 months or so I have been getting better and better at being able to colourize a B+W photo no matter how old and making (in many cases) it look as if it was shot in colour. The program is only available through the internet and is called "Black Magic." Through much trial and error I have been able to bring some of the great composers back to life so to speak in colour. Using this in conjuction with an easy to operate program called Photo Expressions I can greatly inhance an old photo. Currently I am running back and forth between both programs to get the best results. I am wondering if Photoshop is user friendly and what version of it you have? I have seen different versions in the stores ranging in price from 79.00 to 999.00. I look at them and all reads very complicated to me.
The photo you see here was my Grandfather,(Howard Penfield, 1889-1929) who I never knew which I colourized as best as I could from an old waterstained and almost invisable faded circa 1915 Sepia Photo. He was a concert Pianist and died at the age of 39 in my fathers arms of a sudden heart attack. This photo and one other are all that I have of my Grandfather who was from all I have heard was an amazing Pianist.
Hope to hear back from you whatever you have to say about Photoshop. Unfortunately, where I live, whenever I ask anyone a question about it I always receive the same answer: "I don't know."
I think it was amazing what you were able to do so that this young man could actually see what his hair would look like if in a style he wants.
Thanks in advance.
Justin~
Justin,
That is amazing what you did with your Grandfather's photo. I should check out these programs as my Uncle has lots of old B&W photos of family from that era.
Were these programs free?
Mike
Hi Mike
It is actually rather fun to try ones hand at this, but I don't think everyone could do it. There is much more to colourizing than one click of the mouse. ALL of the colour has to be done by hand. The one of my grandfather was especially difficult because of what I had to work with and much prep work had to go into it before the colourization stage could even be attempted. The one you see here I consider my best so far. A photo of composer Johannes Brahms and Ricard Strauss taken in 1883. Fortunately the original photo was quite clear so the results were better.
No. THe Black Magic is available only over the internet and comes in 3 versions at something like 39.00, 99.00 and 199.00. I have the 39.00 version and have learned how to out-smart it to equal the more expensive.
As for PhotoStudio, that program was 29.99 and can be found in some dept. stores...........but not Walmart.
Best wishes to you mike.
Justin~
Hey Justin. I have used photoshop for 7 years and at home have Photoshop 7 upgrading to CS3 and at wrok have CS2. Yes the new programs are expensive but Photoshop 7 will do more then most people will ever use and you can pic it up on ebay for a great price. Once you do that you can upgrade a lot less expensivly then buying it new. I also teach Photoshop classes and am headed to Las Vegas in a month for the world photoshop conference. Your main question to was Is it complcated to use. My answer is no, actually not at all. There are a bout 3 ket elements to know about the program that are easy to remember and makes sence of the whole thing. Also there are certain books and not the general instruction books I can tell you about that are great and are easy to read and follow that show you how to do cool things. I have colorized many photos and it is super easy to do in photoshop and I would be more then happy to talk to you about it. if you want just email me and we can talk about it. longhairedone1@yahoo.com Take care longhairedone Steve
The Urban style would suit you.
Hope you liked it, I should have changed the mane of the last post! Longhairedone
Long time no see!! =D
Despite never talking to you before, I have followed your progress on your site (do you still have that up??).
And... don't cut your hair! It looks so beautyfull the way it is, and I really think it fits you! You started growing it when you were really young, and I think it payed off...
On the other hand, the decision is yours. But I think your hair fits you very well! Good luck on deciding, and congratulations on the 4.5 years of growing those beautyfull locks! =)
Wow, Aaron...it has been a long time!
Your hair's looking very good and, as much as I hate to say it, the Keith Urban look suits you well. But, if you ask me, I'd leave it longer...you might just miss it. I know I would. Good luck with your decision and welcome back.
By the way...do you still have a progress website?
Take care, keep it growin', and send more pics!
Brett
Why do you want his hair style? It's no where near as nice as your hair! Besides everyones hair is slightly unique naturally but yours wont be if you copy his hairstyle. Liking the stach and goatie combo btw
I agree with everyone here your hair looks good now. At the end of the day you do what pleases you so if it's Kieth Urbans hair style then go for it.
I would add if you decide to go for it get your hair cut in three stages so if you change your mind you didn't hack it off all at once. You know sort of ease into it.
Kevin
Your hair is looking great and suits you well. I'm going to resist the considerable urge to try and dissuade you from the proposed restyle... it's your hair, not mine. All I can really say is just be certain that it's something you'll be happy with down the road. You have the look that would compliment any style or length so there's little question in my mind that the shorter style will suit you well.
Good luck with your decision and your life.
Aaron, You have wonderful long hair! Beautiful!
peace, jonalbear
Hi Aaron,
Since I only discovered the hyperboard last September, I ahve never had the chance to meet you before, so a warm hello to you, and welcome back to the hyperboard! Your hair is awesome, I know it has to be your choice whether to cut at this time, but please DO give it some serious thought before doing so.
All the best,
David
Hi! I can't believe that you would cut your hair. It looks incredible. My hair is a little longer than yours and I wouldn't cut it. Good Luck, but I hope that you keep it long because it really looks great.
Del
dude your hair is f'n awesome i wouldnt cut it at all you look great with it!
If I went all girly on you and poured on the tears, whined, begged, and pleaded, would you change your mind? Not that Keith Urban's is all that bad, but... :-( I'd just hate to see you chop off so much wonderful hair. Consider the suggestion of others, do it in stages, and then go for it if you find yourself happy with progressively shorter lengths. It's your hair.
Carol
I guess I'm cutting my hair because I'm just ready for a change. Growing out my hair was fun becuase it was constantly changing, but now I have had almost the same hair for two years and I am ready to change it up a bit. It will still be at least shoulder length and I'll probably let it grow long again. I like how Keith Urbans hair looks. I was almost thinking about Johnny Depp "Secret Window" hair. BTW thanks for the photoshop pic, it looks good!
-Aaron
Again, your decision... it's important that it's respected as far as I'm concerned. Do what makes you happy regardless of the pleading that's taking place. It may well turn out that after you make the change that you'll miss your longer hair. The only sure way to know how you will react is to take the journey. The good news is hair will grow back.
Best of luck with your decision as well as with life in general.
Well, if you want to cut it shorter, that's fine; you can always grow it back later. I think your hair looks excellent on you, but if you're tired of it, all that matters is what you think of it.
Keep us updated!
Peace
I remember you, as someone else siad you used to be the first user in the directory - i also remember visting your websie with progress photos long ago. Great to hear rom you again, I think your hair looks great now and I like the length you've achieved!
Mogh
aaron urban!
Nice pic Nuttidave! take care!
I must say that dude is a hell of a lot more attractive than Bill Barkley!
I do remember you, actually. Your hair looks great now and probably still will if you cut some off. Keith Urban has a cool style certainly.
However, the best way to find out how much you miss something is to be without it for a while. I guess we all have to reinvent the wheel for ourselves.
Wow, you're really grown up since you dropped off the board! What are you doing with yourself now? Are you in college or working in a trade?
Long hair really suits you, so I'm hoping you keep it. Maybe you can take off a couple of inches to get everything evened up then go with a using conditioner only six days in a row then shampooing on the seventh day.to keep it healthy.
Hope all is going well with you.
Brad
