Hi
My hair is fairly straight and is now reaching shoulder length. I generally keep it in a ponytail.
My problem is that when I'm combing it a lot of hair is coming out with the comb. I get the big knots out with my fingers, but this only helps a bit.
Any advice or comments are appreciated.
Well, the advice that is usually given in this case is that you start brushing at the ends and slowly work your way up. That way, if there are any knots, you don't make them worse by pushing more hair into them when you start at the top.
Another thing you might try is avoid combing your hair when it is wet. Oh and lastly, when you wash your hair, make sure to comb/brush it before you wash it, and not just after, so that less knots will form under the water.
Actually just thought of something else: You might want to try brushing the hair after having used conditioner on it (and letting it dry of course). That way the hair will be much more silky and smooth, hence easier to brush.
Good luck!

Unless when you are combing your hair and you feel/hear it snapping and breaking and ripping and such, then any hair on the comb/brush is just hair that has shedded naturally. The range of amounts of hairs that is naturally shedded per day is from 50-150 for most folks.
