I wear this style to work occasionally. A couple of the other employees make Viking and Legolas comments :)
I feel confident wearing it in public.
It appears to suit you quite well so more power to you! An air of confidence by the wearer is the finishing touch that a style has for a pleasing aesthetic appearance. More guys might do well to follow your example.
Good for you for being so confident! I think you look great with your hair like that. You have the right length and texture to pull it off. Looks awesome!

I love that style! And it looks good on you.
I'm hoping to try that out in about a year when my hair is sufficiently long for it. Tell me though, do you braid the half tail yourself or does someone do it for you? If you do it yourself, how long does it take?
Thanks,
derf26
I do it myself. It only takes about 2-3 minutes. I learnt from this video: http://www.ehow.com/how_17114_braid-hair.html
Go to the 2 minute mark.
I really like that style too. Looks great!

Hi DBD.Its great that you have the confidence to wear that style out in public as I think it looks fantastic on you.Are you planning on growing you hair longer? I'd like to try something like that myself so I'll have to check out that link you provided.Graet pics!Mark
I plan to go to at least waist length and see what it's like at that stage.
And you SHOULD love that style. It look great on you!

Enviable. Perfectly apropos for you. Yeah, I used to do that same excellent style, hmn, oh, guess it's been three years now. I can't wait for the length to catch up once again. BTW, I've had the "Legolas" comment thrown at me, too, but for an altogether different reason, right Ken? LOL!
Yours in longhaired camaraderie,
Quenyan
That style certainly suits you and I'm sure it's not easy to master and of course as Jason would say just keep practicing. It's nice informal style and just different from just a ponytail.
Okay I'd better practicing.
Cheers,

One of the great things about having long hair is that so many things can be done with it that are not only fun...but can look really fantastic.
And what you have come up with looks great!
You have terrific hair DBD, I like the look and color of it. I don't remember seeing you before so welcome if you are new (I am not always on here so I just may have missed your earlier posts.)
That is great that you have the ability to make the braid and the length to do so. Congratulations on doing what you want to do with your hair. (Your picture inspires me to make a new thread on this idea :) )
Looks awesome dude!
I regularly wear that style myself. In fact, I would say it's my favorite. I haven't had the nerve to wear it to work yet though.
Hi DBD,
Your hair looks awesome, you are blssed with straight hair with lots of shine. That is a great style, in fact, I have seen Jason wear that style, in addition to many other halftails, braids, etc. You should really check out Jason's website in the links section, it is a very inspirational site, and lots of styles are shown there.
Keep it growing,
David
Jason's pictures actually inspired to me start braiding.
That really, really looks sharp. I wish I could pull that off, but alas my hair is too thin, thinning and not long enough.
Wear it well and Thank for Sharing

Looks good. It is nice to see a wider variety of long hair styles on men now. Keep growing it for sure.
Scott
Your hair looks great...I want to do it also....Now this may be thread-Jacking
Someone above had said that thier hair was a bit too thin to pull this style off.
Well my question is this. My hair in the front (Hairline) is OK but when I pull my hair back into this style it seems there isn't much hair below the poneytail. Just seems the hair that is not beeing tied up is thin or just not much of it. Is this normal?
I guess most of the hair is tied-up with only the hair on the bottom half of the back of your skull being left un-tied to fall free.
I realy like this look and would like to wear it.So is there anyone else with my problem ? or is it not a problem at all and just normal ?
Or maybe I am dividing and tying the sections of hair wrong ? Any input...?
When I first started doing half tails (non braided) I had the same problem. The hair left loose was very thin. I fixed that by putting much less hair into the tail. I take hair from top of my ears and go straight up to the top of my crown (rather than around the back of the head). During braiding my half tail drops down a bit.
Thank You very much DBD for that reply.
I was almost not going to post my question because I thought no one would get what I was talking about or it just sounded like an odd question to ask.
Thanks for the well done reply the pic's help so much.
