Hey, I've never really had long hair but decided it was time to try it out. I guess the closest way to describe the look I'm going for would be Colin Farrel in this photo (I feel so corny).
I've been just pushing my hair forward and spiking the front of it for years, so it's trained to go in the WRONG directions right.
Any tips or suggestions for achieving this style, and what to do in the awkward stage when it becomes too tall to spike but too short to push backwards? (besides wearing a lot of hats)
Thanks!
That hair doesn't look too long, so it shouldn't take more than a year from buzzcut to grow...possibly less.
There's probably going to be a stage where you won't be able to control your hair with gel or anything, that might last maybe a couple of months? Personally, during my whole awkward stage I didn't use gel once, nor did I wear hats. My recommendation is simply bear it and grin :P
P.S. what movie is that photo from? I swear I've seen it. Was he working as an undercover agent or something in that part?

If I'm not mistaken, thats Miami Vice, the movie from sometime last year.

As far as Colin Farrel goes, though... I've often been told I look JUST LIKE HIM!!!! I think I'm like him in *every* way, in fact... except for maybe the following *minor* things: my age, my weight, my face, my hair, my build, my job, my bank account...
