Hi! Let me introduce myself: I am a 39 old guy from Holland, and I have had very long hair for many years now. Today I made a video of myself showing off my hair. Please take a look at youtube, and don't forget to rate it! ;-)
Take care and keep up the good work!

Welcome to the Hyperboard and thank you for sharing with all of us that video.
Your long hair is about the most magnificent I have ever seen in my entire life. Are you ever blessed to have a mane like that.
Perhaps for all the guys here you might at some point let us know of your own technique (Shampoo, Conditioner, etc.) and how you go about keeping your long hair in such sensational condition.
Many thanks and again welcome.
Thank you for your nice reply. As for your question about my technique: I have always had more faith in common sense than in hair product sellers.
I think the most important rule is: BE GENTLE TO YOUR HAIR. Hair can damage or break off easily, so you have to be carefull. Probably most damage occurs when combing, so I try to do it carefully. First, I run my hands through it to feel where the tangles are (you can see this in the video as well), then I detangle them without putting any stress on the hair. It is easily said, but it's harder to put into practice. I'm often in a hurry or just too lazy, and as a result I break off hairs.
As of hair products: I use Elvive shampoo and conditioner (L'Oréal) for long hair, and I sometimes use something that's called Hairwonder by Henna Plus (Frenchtop), because you never know... (it's my only consession to superstition). I try not to wash my hair too often.
Take care!
amazing
I really hope I can get my hair that long and nice
Hi Hairfreaky,
I DEFINITELY agree with Justin here, your hair is amongst the best I have ever seen, either on a man OR a woman! It is thick and straight, shiny, and the colour is absolutely outstanding! Keep growing that magnificent mane!
All the best,
David
Hi Hairfreaky,
Welcome to our community here and thanks for posting the link.
You certainly have great looking hair their in amazing condition and you don't see longhair in that condition very often and a great inspiration to people growing their hair out at the moment.
I was just wondering what hair care products you use to keep you hair in such amazing condition.
Keep it growing and drop in when you can.
Cheers,
John.B
How Blonde is too Blonde?...only his hairdresser knows for sure!
I must admit on the video it looks a little blonder then it is in reality. But I think three weeks in the Mexican sun this summer has had it's effect as well...
Oh My God.
Ken
Welcome
You have one fantastic classic length mane. Guys with hair this long are very rare. Keep it long.
Scott
That is awesome. Not sure how else to describe it. Any maintenance tips?

Hi Hairfreaky,
WOW!!!! Well, you definitley have one amazing head of hair there!!!
I tried to rate the video; but, unfortunately I don't understand the Dutch language, --- so I couldn't figure out where it said to rate (sorry about that)....
In any case, thanks for posting, --- and I agree with Justin's and other's welcoming comments, as well as am wondering what your hair care secrets are (IF you're willing to share, that is - lol).

I'm surprised the page shows up in Dutch, but you can switch to English (or international) in the upper right corner. It may be not of great help: I think you also have to log in...
Welcome aboard Hairfreaky!
You have an outstanding mane my friend. It looks very healthy and SO SILKY! I don't know what your secret is but right now I'm thinking that you sold your soul to the devil!
hi there!!
God I wish I had my hair that long! your hair looks so good! how many years did it took for you to grow it so big?
I was 21 when I decided to let my hair grow out. I just let it grow and grow - it felt so good! I think it took me some nine or ten years to have hair almost to my knees. Since a few years, I maintain it at the length you see in the video.
Excellent head of hair you've got. An inspiration to many no doubt.
Kevin
What a blindingly beautiful color! Awesome head of longhair there. Congrats on such an accomplishment.
Carol
Hairfreaky, You have wonderful hair. Simply stunning!
peace, jonalbear
Hi guys!
Thank you all very much for the nice comments! In stead of thanking everyone personally, I do it this way. As for those who asked me for my "secrets", I wrote something about that in my reply to Justin's reaction.
I definitely plan to keep long hair for as long as it doesn't turn grey! I'm not sure what I'll do when that moment arrives...
I must admit I'm not really the kind of person to linger on message boards or web communities (unfortunately for me perhaps), so I don't know if I'll be around here a lot. But if you have any further questions, just let me know.
What matters is that we all stand for the same cause!
Hi Hairfreaky...now that's a nice head o' hair!!! Looks fantastic!
Thanks for sharing and keep it growin'!
Brett

Yes, I'm imagining a beautiful shimmering silver myself!

Hi! Your video is incredible. You have great looking hair. I've been to Holland twice during tulip season and really love your country. Once again, beautiful hair. I also have blonde hair about 3/4 the way down my back. I've got a couple of years until I get to your length.
Del
Hi there Hairfreaky! Just had a chance to check out your utube video and have to say your hair almost leaves me speechless but I had enough in me to say "GREAT HAIR"!!! I'm very impressed and thanks for posting it as I'm sure others feel the same.I also posted a comment but had to sign up to do it but thats OK.So how long have you been growing your hair and whats you goal?I've had longhair since my early 20s and its been that way ever since.I'd never go back to short hair! Also welcome to the MLHH and hope you plan on becomming a member here.Mark
Hi Hairball, thanks for your enthousiastic comments and for taking the trouble to sign up! Like you, I have been growing my hair since I was 21, only wish I had started earlier! Can't imagine what it would be like with short hair, I'd rather not think of it. My goal nowadays is to keep it more or less the current length or just a little longer. I had longer hair some years ago, but it gets thinner when I let it grow.
Hi Hairfreaky. It was a pleasure to post my comments on utube and here as well.Your hair deserved the highest praises as it it truely fantastic.I do like the length of your hair as mine I think has reached terminal length as it seems to be stuck at waist but I'm happy with that. Its been great having longhair for over 20 yrs, and I have no intension of ever cutting it.Hope to see you around again!Mark
Thanks, Quenyan. No, I am not in a band...
Cheers
