i know i haven't been around much lately - work has been super busy. i'm planning on posting sometime this weekend to many of you. but in the meantime, while i have a second, i wanted to show off my new baby. it's too early to tell what sex or type he/she is, but someone brought me a two-day-old abandoned kitty. i've been bottle feeding and cradling him/her in my lap the last couple days. thankfully my job is ok with this sort of thing. but who knows, it's possible i just posted a picture of a future long-haired male. :)
love you guys and i'll have more to say soon!
nic
Hi Nic,
Thank you for sharing your story, you are very kind to do this for this kitty who needed a home and some TLC and I am sure you will be a wonderful mom to your new pet. Of course, both you and your hair look wonderful, and I am looking forward to your post this weekend.
My best to you,
David
Hi Nic,
Feeding and taking care of a newborn kitten while your busy at work no small task. thats really cool of you to take it on.
Speaks volumes about who you are as a person and we are glad your here with us on this board. I look forward to your post next month along with kitty update.
Kevin
What a cute photo, both you and the little kitty;)
Take care!
Simon
I have "raised" a few young kittens. Being a surrogate cat is a lot of work. Do not use whole milk....too heavy for them. Call your local vet for a few good tips.
Best of luck !

Oh...........how sweet. What a wonderful little baby you have there. I have 2 myself (puppies as you can see) and both Brendan and Heidi told me they wanted to say hi to you and the little baby kitten. (They are both cat friendly.)
Thanks for sharing this with all of us nic.
Justin
Thats soo cute Justin! Are those Chihuahuas or?:D
Simon
Hi Simon
Yes, both are Chihuahuas. Heidi is the Longhair Chihuahua furthest back and weighs 4-1/2lbs. Brendan is larger and weighs in at 8lbs.
all the best
Justin~
Cute pups Justin! This is my mother in-law's dog "Bug". She weighs in at 1 pound 12 ounces! She's 8 months old.
Bruce
Hey Scooper
Bug is just so cute! :-) Aren't they the most wonderful dogs of all. Smart, lots of affection, playful, easily portable, always your friend..........and when let loose, faster than the speed of light!
Thanks for sharing this photo with me. Much appreciated.
Justin~
Hi Justin,
Your chihauhaus are just so cute, in fact, my family had a chihauhau named "Bambi" when I was growing up as a boy in Calgary from 1057 to 1962. Sadly, he was run over by a car, and he only graced our lives for a year or so. Here is a picture of me playing with Bambi when I was around 6 1/2 years old, taken in Februray 1960. (sorry the picture is a bit blurry, but my older brother took the photo, and he probably did not hold the camera very steady.)
Take care,
David
a rather long childhood David. I see you caught your mistake. I got a chuckle out of it though.

Hi David
What a cutie that little dog was. How sad about what happened to him. (It would have dissolved me.) He reminds me of my own Brendan so much. Thanks so much for posting this photo.
All the best-
Justin~
Hi Justin,
I'm glad you like my picture of me playing with Bambi as a little boy. Here is another one, shortly after we got Bambi as a new puppy. I think this was me, one month before my 6th birthday, in 1959, who is playing with him.
All the best,
David
Yo nic:Are you sure that's not a ferret? (lol) Last weekend I was at the pet store getting some supplies for my salt water tank and held 3 puppies, 2 kittens and a ferret (not at the same time.) Haven't had a cat in a long time but sometimes think it would be a nice addition to the family. Any possible names for yours? Bruce'ster
We have several cats and one older kitten. All the best to you and your kitten.
Alun
It looks really delicate, I had no idea what it was until I read the whole post.
Good luck raising a kitten. I got my first cat (Sage) as an abandoned six-week-old. Even at that age she became very attached. I eventually got her a "brother," Ky, and the two play and fight just like siblings. She's still very much "my" cat though, so I can only imagine how loyal and loving this little one will be towards you when it grows up. You'll be mom for life.
Best wishes,
Mouse, Sage, and Ky.
Here was Sage a day after I got her.
Awwwwwe! What a precious little baby kitten that is. Sad that it somehow ended up separated from it's momma so soon. Are you using Kitty Lac for food? It's like formula, but for cats. My sister bred Bengals for a while, and sometimes the mothers would reject a litter, and they had to hand raise the babies. Bottles and Kitty Lac from a vet supplier is what they used.
Fortunately your work is ok with it. Like a human baby, that critter needs 'round the clock feeding. When it's not needing to be fed or attended to otherwise, it's mostly sleeping anyway. Conratulations on the new baby.
Carol
That's a beautiful thing you're doing Nic. It's not easy, but it is sure as heck rewarding.
Take care
Bruce
