First, I'm new here and just wanted to say hey before I get started.
Second, I'm getting bored with my hair, which is now down to my mid back. I'm just wondering if anyone knows any different styles or anything that I could try. I'm not necessarily against cutting it, but it has to stay reasonably long. Past the shoulders, long.

Welcome to the community and good that you have found us and I'm sure we can give you some constructive advice. Looking at you picture your hair looks in great condition and a great colour.
Well you don't have to cut anything off the length and that's the nice thing about having longhair as you do many styles with it. You could try putting it in a bun, or perhaps a half ponytail if you have not don't than before or even braiding your hair. We do have an expert here in Jason and I do believe there are some links that point to braiding if that helps.
It's great that you have grown it down to mid back and it would great to see a picture.
I hope that has helped and I know that other members will offer some advised.

You could try a different kind of "braiding" like a daisy chain.

Thank you for being courageous and posting w/ your "length" query, esp. as a newcomer! You rock, duuude! I, who've been raised in a VERY liberal family, say, "Don't sheer!" Howe'er, ya wanna cut? Then, me sez upper shoulder blades, that's all. That's short enuff.
But, hey, you're gonna do whatever ya wanna do anyway. I have, and I've been every colour (almost) and length, including NO length (shaven-headed), so, wait a while. I think you'll keep farmin' them locks! Ya look great, BTW!

At any rate, I'm sure there is lots you can do - braids, interesting configurations of tails and such. If I can find it, I'll post the link to a cool site of many differents styles in a little while.

I like to consider myself relatively quiet in comparison to those around me, if not in the classical sense, :)
But thanks for the link, Its great as a base line. I'll try to modify one or two into something a little more "different".
Another thing you can try is to braid some braids...braid your hair in small braids and then incorporate those braids into larger braids and then those can be parts of bigger braids up to the point where you have a big braid of braids...
Kinda like a rope of sorts but not exactly...but at least you can discuss the fractal nature of the style?
I'm not positive how effective fractal art hair would be as a conversation starter, but it would be interesting none the less just to see the blank stares.

Welcome to the MLHH. There are many styles you can try with your hair. There are a few links on this site and there are a couple of people here who are brilliant with hair "experiments". Stick around and I'm sure in time you'll learn how to tie your hairin all sorts of knots : )
