I found some hairsticks today. Well, one set of hairsticks and one set of chopsticks. Here's a picture of the two sets of sticks...soon enough I will have pictures of them in my hair. Let me know thoughts and preferences...
As for where, Target did not have any sticks in their aisle. They had like thirty types of headbands but no sticks. Kmart likewise had no sticks. And so I took another looking at Icing in the mall (which according to the clerk does have a decent male clientele) and found one set which may work. The other set was the ones I saw at the tea store.
These are the sticks designed to be hairsticks. Let me know what you think.
Antesse, Ah Soh. Very cool!

Antesse,
Your have enviable hair, but please try my simple solutions.
Toothpicks may not be long enough for your beautiful hair, but at least give them a try.
Next try the cheap food swewers available at any primium grocery store. They may be too long, but you can cut them off, leaving the pointed end, and if they work for you as they do for me, then you can color them any color you want.
It really is so simple, and so inexpensive.
CALEDONIAN
Caledonian,
I have toothpicks on my counter. When I go to the store, I can pick up some skewers. I will try it out...in fact I already have a plan for how I can do it. Toothpicks may be suitable for my hair with it still being short in the eyes of long hair. Skewers can be arranged in designs involving more than 2 matched sticks and are effectively disposable.
I guess my youthful inexperienced approach was to try out flair before frugality--once offered by nature the chance to use sticks in hair, one may go the route of the eventual dream before trying the realistic approach. When I obtain the skewers, I will try them out and display on the board.
I will argue that the sticks I bought came out to something like 3 dollars a stick and will be useful for occasions where a skewer in the hair may be gauche. So I still stand by the complicated solutions for some purposes.
