HELP!!!! I need some help. I have thick wavy hair and I hate it. It would probably reach the bottom of my chin, but it does this wavy thing up to my eye. It's annoying. I just got a ConAir straightening iron yesterday. I need help on how to use it. Don't you use it on dry hair? Pull down the hair and run the iron through it? Then do you use hair spray? and comb it out again. Thanks. I really appreciate it.
go to a salon and do the thermal reconditioning!!! it's faster!! and weather proof!! only cost about $300 to $700

I am a fellow thickwavyhair, lol. I use a straightening iron and i'll give u some tips especially for us wavy heads. Do not use the iron on wet hair, big no, no. Make sure your hair is completely dry and don't use any products in it while straightening, this includes gel, hairspray, straightening balms, etc. The best and fastest way to straighten your hair with minimal damage is to section off one part of it at a time. Here's how i do it, i use a large clip and clip my left sides, front and bangs and leave it up in the clip. After that I straighten the left back side. When this is done take the clip out and place it on the left back side and straigten the front, and bangs. Repeat for right side and you're done. You should really try using a clip b/c when i didn't i tried straightening over the back of my hair it was just too thick for the iron to handle. This in turn damaged my hair b/c i'd spend hours going over the same part of my hair and i ended up losing 2 inches off the back! After your done straightening and if you have flyaways or frizz use a bit of gel over it but don't get the hair wet or it will curl again. If you have anymore questions just post them and good luck.

I wouldn't recommend blowdrying after a shower b/c remember all heat is damaging to hair; plus with wavy hair blowdrying just makes it a puffy mess. Lightly towel dry your hair not completely and if you can tie it in a ponytail and let it dry that way. When u take it out of the ponytail it will be a tad bit straighter and smoother, it's a bit time consuming but if your just sitting around the house go for it. Good luck with the iron.
