Hey everyone, something crossed my mind recently regarding people with long curly hair. I've seen a fair share of guys with about mid-back at the longest, and very few at waist level or beyond. It could just be that I've only really paid attention to people's hair length within the last three years or so, but has anyone here met or viewed someone with substantially long curls?
I realize that, to an extent, curly hair won't appear as long as straighter hair even at waist length. Is it just difficult maintaining that particular type at a longer length?
I'm just being curious here... any input is greatly appreciated.
Peace,
Ryan
a friend of mine (female) had extremely curly hair just reaching her butt it looked amazing she said it was too much of a hassel and cut most of it off though but had her hair at that length for years :{ ]
Wow, that's pretty cool. Too bad she ended up cutting some of it off. I'm sure I will get to know similar hassles even more in years to come...
Well, you said it yourself - curly hair never appears as long as it actually is. And since most people's terminal length isn't as long as, say, Danny Cecati's floor-length locks, the curls will never look as long as the terminal. So, if someone's terminal length is waist-length, their curls might only reach mid-back or less. Basically, the longer one's curly hair, the longer their stretched/actual length is, and so most people are unlikely to have long curls beyond like butt-length. One's height also plays a part in this. Since girls are often a bit shorter than guys, their hair is likely to appear longer, since it has less of a distance to go.
Also, curly hair is generally more maintenance than straight hair, and it'll likely get harder to deal with at extreme lengths, so that's probably why you don't see very long curly hair too often. Lots of guys already don't want to do much with their hair, so long, hard-to-maintain curls aren't going to be present on anybody not dedicated to the task.
Peace
My youngest sister is 31 (10 years older than me) and her hair grows all the way down her back even though her curls are tight (about the circumference of a pencil as are mine.
Hi there
I have very curly hair, even tough my curls are very large. Yes I've seen many people with long and curly hair and for 2 years I had it at my waist lenght, then I stupidly cut it and it's been so hard to grow it again... Curly hair never looks as long as straight thats true and it requires more aintenance. and I belive that it grows slower but if you have alot of patiente (thats something I unfortunently dont have) you can have really long curly hair!
