Thanks to those who have researched and exposed some of the fallacies of locks of love and similar organizations. If someone really wants to make a donation then that's fine, but that is not only rude but can be harrassing to pressure someone into doing something they really don't want to do.
Thanks for the info.
Sincerely,
James
We have something similar here in Australia, called shave for a cure. Normally a group of people, say in a large workplace, find sponsors who will pay money to a cancer foundation for them to have their hair shaved off, usually in front of your workmates. That way you are less likely to opt out if those around you are all doing it too. While the money raising is admirable (I have lost friends to cancer), I personally disagree with the way it's done. And unlike locks of love, where at least a tiny portion of the hair is used, all the hair in shavefor a cure is simply lost.
shaving hair off for charity is stupid in my opinion, donate money by all means but why hair?
You may have noticed, but Locks of Love is in the news today.
