Just want to say that I love growing my hair it has been the best thing that I have done. I have and still a little unhappy with life. I look forward to every month to see the process of my hair growth. So if you are unsure about growing long hair it can be done. You just have to want it. I posted an old photo just to show new members. Long hair rules. The worst part is a really hot day.
Eric.
Hey Eric! I must say the you really look a thousand times better now with the long hair than before!:D
Also, did you find a solution to the frizz in your hair? As it looks great now:)
Simon
thank you, I bought Herbal essences None of your frizzness, name is funny and I bought a Neutrogena triple moisture deep hair mask and i put a few drops of jojoba oil with the Neutrogena and it seems to be working great.
Your mane is always an inspiration to see (regardless of whether someone is a new longhair, or an old one - lol), --- GREAT progress, man!!

Hi Eric,
Your hair looks outstanding, it is thick and healthy, and you have come a LONG ways since your earlier buzzcut! I was wondering if you have any particular goal length in mind? Be sure to keep it growing!
All the best,
David
Hi Eric,
Your long hair is simply magnificent beyond all belief! Absolutely superb. Keep up the good work.
On the topic of "life," I think everyone of us has days such as this.
I believe you are serving as a superior example to the newbies that are just in the beginning stages of growing-out their hair. Thanks for posting this inspiration for them.

Wow, Eric!!! I don't know how old you actually are but in the old picture you look like you are perhaps in your late 40's and in the new picture with the long hair and beard you look like you are in your early 20's. What a huge difference. Who knew growing long hair was the fountain of youth (lol).
thanks Kailongbeard, I'm 34 years old. It took me 15 years to decide to grow my hair long. My wife at the time gave me such a hard time. Thats why she's my ex wife now.

Hey Eric, superb photo showing your tremendous progress. Just the motivation I needed to see today, been one of "those" weeks when I feel that a buzzcur would make me look better...so thanks for getting me back on track. Well done indeed!!!
Cheers, Max

Hi Eric here is a side by side comparison. Long hair has improved your looks tremendously. In your case long hair will likely make it easier to get hired or to find that perfect person for a long term relationship. Keep growing it for sure.
Scott

There are ways of dealing with a hot day...like a tail or a bun or something like that. Of course, long hair will be nice in the winter...
And most interesting is that the long hair has produced somehow a kinder humane look, and in your particular case makes you look younger, but hardly too young to be turned away from a job because of age. When I speak of a kinder-look, what I am trying to say is that it adds that extra touch that short hair in many a case robs from the person. Nature tells us our hair is suppose to be long. Please remember that I am speaking in generalities here and only by my own personal observations over a lifetime.
Thanks Scott for combining the two photos to fit next to ea. other. This is most helpful for other guys to see as one of the many pluses to having longish to long hair.
And in closing, there has not been one case that I can recall in the past 5 years on this board of a guy growing out his hair long, and not meeting with fantastic results in the end.
I only wish i can find a relationship period. It has been awhile since I have had a relationship. But the kinds words from everyone has made my day.
Strange as it may seem as well as frustrating like one wouldn't believe, when "looking" hard for a relationship..........nothing seems to turn up, and the harder one looks the more depressed feeling inside they become.
Usually what happens is that suddenly out of the blue someone just seems to walk into your life........and you were not even looking or prepared, it just happens.
Guys have cut off their long hair over this one many a time, but you know what? It didn't help and then they are sorry that they cut and even more depressed.
Hang in there for it WILL happen. Trouble is you just don't know when. And this is the case with everyone in desperate want of a relationship.
You are a perfect example of why I prefer men with some hair on their head. Who EVER came up with the idea that buzz-cuts, crew-cuts, and anything lacking some fullness and some length to it, is somehow attractive, needs a reality check. And maybe an eye exam too. Hair is meant to adorn the head. Not be chopped off into near non-existence. All I can say is, WOW! And in agreement with others, you look like you aren't a day past 30 with the hair; the before picture made you look old before your time, I would have guessed 40+. Truly amazing! I think you just became some longhair wannabe's newfound hero. Definitely an inspiration.

Wow, you are MEANT to be a longhair!

Wow that is amazing change Eric, you look much more vibrant and interesting and younger too in the second longhair pic. You made a wise choice :) Love the hair and the facial hair, very inspiring to everyone here. Congratulations on your re-inventing yourself :)
Thanks for sharing the pics
Eric, you're fortunate in that your face is rather pleasant regardless of your hairstyle. However, the longer hair, both on your scalp and face, does give you a more balanced look. I'm referring to the way a crew-cut hairstyle did make the upper half of your head appear less well proportioned with the lower half.
Also, you're a good example of the way that something as superficial as the way a person wears his hair will change other people's impressions of him. It's impossible for me to look at the "after" photo of you and not think that you're naturally a more cool and fun-loving person.
Scott, I have to agree. Absolutely amazing difference. Like two different people or something. Really cool. Oh how I hate the shaved, bald look on myself and most other men.
Eric, whatever made your 'deer in the headlights' look turn into a sultry gaze hang on to it and run with it. There is such a difference in your eyes from one picture to the other. For some people going from long to short hair would have the same positive effect. The way I see it, it really isn't about the hair but what it has done for the way you feel about yourself. Congratulations on finding what works for you.

Hi Eric,
A great update pic there and the hair is looking great and you look quite happy there. We all have up and downs in life and it's not always plain sailing but great to know growing you hair out is giving you something to look forward to it.
Keep it growing.
Cheers,
John.B
You look a whole lot better with the long hair and the facial hair, Eric. Incredible transformation! Keep it growing.
Eric,
Just find a way to tie it up off your neck.
Wow! What an improvement!

The difference is amazing (when compared to your early, near-hairless pic), Erik. The hair looks great, but the confidence (as Elizabeth pinted out..I believe she called it 'sultry') is the real bonus. I am so happy for you to have come so far. It is in many ways a small thing: stop cutting your hair, more frequently condition it and comb it. But by these few life changes, over a period of time, one has a tangible outward manifestation of their ability to alter their circumstances and their life. To be reminded that WE are the ones who can (and are responsible for) change our situations.
Thanks for showing me what great hair looks like and, more importantly, for reminding me of the power of change that I have in my own life.
Sincerely,
Shawn (Mr.Crow)

Mr Crow,
What do you intend to achieve by your current avatar.
If you will indulge my humble opinion, actually my arrogant opinion, what do you intend to achieve?
I think you are a very handsome man, and some of the photos you have submitt4d attest to that. But your current photo is less than optimum, in my humble opinion.
If you would like to speak with me in my position as media image consultant, I would be pleased to do whatever I can to get you started.
By the way. I like the way you think.

Eric....
Wow! You've come a long long way dude. The hair is great and it really suits you well. Keep it growing for sure.
