ok, first off I know it is normal for people to loose 100 or more hairs a day. But i am fairly sure I am loosing more than that. In the 4 years I have had long hair I have never noticed So much hair falling out. My parents even noticed its all over the floor. And my ponytail is noticably thinner.
Anyway, I was wondering If it is normal for people to go through shedding periods like this? or if it is most likely caused by my diet. im only 18 so i shouldnt be balding already.
I know somone in school whos hairline is halfway back over his head and hes only 17, so sadly it can occur naturally at even this early an age.
Btw, going bald dosent mean the end of having longhair, look at devin townsend and many others with "skullets" for inspiration.
Well, there's the possibility that a larger mass of hairs makes it appear as though more individual hairs are falling out.
I'd go and see a doctor about it, and use one of those creams in the meantime just in case. A few good ones were posted on this site, or you can google it.
You need to see a Doctor soon. Ask about Propecia and I would also suggest that you consider Rogaine as well. MPB can definitely start in the teen years and if it does this may be an indication that the process may be severe. Unless you see a Doctor, preferably a Dermatologist, you will not know for certain and time is of the essence in this case.
BTW, 100 to 150 hairs per day is quite normal. More than 150 is questionable.
