Hi. Can you please do me a favor and hide my face in my avatar pics. I would prefer if only my hair is shown and not my face. If it is not possible then could you rather delete the photos. (I will continue to post (and lurk :-)) here. I would just feel better if my face was not shown.
Thanks in advance.
Kyle
Avatars have to show the face, so we've removed your avatar and the big version of it from the site. You have to have an avatar to be in the users' directory so your entry there has also been removed. You are welcome to join it again anytime, of course, if you change your mind!

Wow. That was extremely quick. Appreciate it. If I post update pics is it okay if I hide my face in those?
Sorry about all the drama btw.
Hi Kyle,
As far as I know, it is totally up to you whatever you want to show or not show in any updates you wish to post. Heck, we have one user here who has only posted the same old pic of the back of his head for years now, --- in his case, even an "update" of the back of his head would be a novelty!
There is nothing that I remember in any of our FAQ rules that would prohibit what you describe, --- and we all have the right to do whatever feels the most comfortable to us, especially if you'd prefer keeping your identity more private...
Take Care,

I'll add that what we CAN'T DO is remove photos or other stuff users have posted in their messages. Besides being too much work to ferret out and snip such stuff out, messages are usually replied to, and removing stuff from a user's posts would involve looking through other people's posts and removing stuff he has posted that they have quoted, and then there's the problem that their words are still there talking about what he had posted. No, it's just too messy to try, so keep in mind that whatever you post is there for the long haul. This only applies to material that has been put on the site, of course. A user can modify or remove his personal hair progress web site or any other photos he has LINKED to, at any time. If one has concern about wanting a photo to remain forever, it is best to link rather than upload it.
Removing someone from the users' directory, though, is easy. If they ask their photos there be removed, we can do that, too, and that is easy. Normally, if someone asks to be removed from the directory, the avatar and large photo of it are not removed since they also appear in messages. However, if someone asks that their avatar be removed, their users' directory entry has to go, since it has to have an avatar.
