Frelsun a new religion, has a component that includes growing hair long without getting it cut and refusing to put chemicals in the hair because the hair can clean itself naturally.

Clean itself naturally? After spending many days camping out
in the mountains and not showwering I don't think hair can clean
itself naturally. I've spend mnay years searching the white
mountains of New Hampshire looking for that secret. Never found it.
A couple of days won't do it fully. It takes a little time. SHampoo strips the hair of oils, the oils that allow the hair to shine. I was told that beauty contestants go without shampooing their hair to give themselves an extra advantage. After I went a couple of months without shampooing my hair, a friend of mine who hadn't seen me for a while mentioned how clean my hair looked. The body is smart, believe it or not, people had clean hair before the advent of commercial shampoo. All these artifical products create a demand for unneeded products. I don't think we need shampoo, thus I don't use it. It takes a bit of time for the natural luster to return. Also, you didn't shower for this period of time. I think water is healthy and natural and needed to clean, while shampoo isn't.

Do you have a picture to show us how good your hair looked. I'm just curious to see how effective is your postulation. For I feel, since the advent of shampoo comes before the age of capitalism, there must be a reason for its appearance with regards to personal upkeep.
Questioningly and curiously,

It all depends what you put under the word "clean".
I have spend myself 6 month without shampooing my hair, and it effectively looks ok. The real problem is with smells : your hair captures strong smells (especially from smoke : fire, cigarette, cooking oil ...) And only shampoo can remove the smell ...
Your hair is clean, but the smell may be not seem clean.
The problem is that the oil in your hair captures the smell, and only by removing this oil could you remove the smell.

call me softcore, but i haven't washed my hair for coming up 20 weeks.it does clean itself sort of, some days it feels hideous and some days it feels clean.that dude is right about the smell.and damn it itches.not combing doesn't help either.took me half an hour to comb it last time (about 6 weeks ago!)
