Hey everybody. I wanned to ask, how do those longhairs of you, who have thinning hair cope with the problem? I myself have noticed, that my hair is not what it used to be when i was 20 (now i'm 25) and sometimes it gives me qute a depression. I got over stage, when i wanned to cut my hair, for it wouldn't solve the problem. My dad is bald, but from my mom's side all gyes have good hair. So i dunno,if getting bald like my dad, or not. I got so used to my hair (its been long now for 7 yrs)and everyone knows me that way,and i can't imagine myself bald or shorthaired....but if i start balding, and it'll start showing...what shall i do then?????
Hi Shaddieslav,
First of all.... WELCOME!!
I have a bit of a receding hairline myself, --- although really, not all that bad, considering my age (54). My hair in general just, "ain't what it used to be!": in that, over time, most guys experience at least some thinning...
That having been said, it mighht be helpful for you to hear that one of the best-looking longhairs I ever saw out in public was a guy who was TOTALLY bald on-top; but, what hair he did have flowed beautifully all the way down his back and almost to his knees!!!
MPB is genetic. Some guys here take Propecia or Rogain; but other guys just learn to live with whatever Momma Nature gave them...
The infamous, "Fashion Police" will probably not agree with me that I think it looks WAY better to see most bald guys keep their long hair than shave it; but, everyone has to decide for themselves whatever they are most comfortable living with, --- if indeed one's hairloss continues. They say that whatever you look like by age 30 is basically the main amount of MPB that you will have for the rest of your life (only maybe slowly thinner and thinner as one ages). It's a totally unfair CURSE. I absolutely HATE losing **any** hairs on my head!!! But, hairloss, just like aging in general, are both facts of life that unfortunately are here to stay, --- so it's best to just intelligently get to know your various options, and then pick whichever is the lesser of 2 or 3 evils that you feel you can best live with...
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the answer, i agree with your opinion. Actually, you reminded me of a guy i saw recently - he was absolutely bald on the top, but (similar to the guy u described) he had the rest of his hair in a waist-long braid runnin down his back:-). Nature and genes might be unfair, but i guess we'll have to live with it:-) Anyway,i'll stay a longhair for life,if it's possible, or at least my hair long for a period as long as possible.
I receded very slightly at my forehead/temples a few years ago but have regrown and it looks fine.
Just go for it - even if you do recede you can still keep long hair.
The fashion police would hand you a razor but there is an easy way to deal with them!
Propecia, Rogaine, Avodart
Talk to your Doctor about these options.

If i ever think about going bald i just remember that the worst case scenario would be having a Skullet, but its still better than short hair!
Yeah Strapping Younglad's Devin Townsend!
I'm 39, and I've been gradually thinning since my 20's. Several months ago I started using minoxidil topical solution. I tried 2% at first just to make sure I didn't have any adverse side effects, and now I'm using 5%. It's still too early to say how effective it will be, but for about $16/month it's an inexpensive over-the-counter proven hair loss prevention product. It doesn't work for everyone, but it's worth a try at least. Regardless of the end result, I'm keeping my long hair. Best of luck to you!
