A few months ago I found some websites that displayed pictures of the progression from short to long hair but have since lost the links. Does anyone know of any good sites that show different stages of growth?
Well, my site is only dedicated to growing long hair on top but it does show a progression of pictures. I did an update today in which I show I can finally place my hair comfortably in my mouth. A small goal reached compared to most of you, but still an accomplishment.
Stanley, Your hair is short....stop wasting our time.
Gil
Shut up, Gil -- you're wasting our time.
Stanley's pics were good, and his hair is over 6 inches, which does not constitute as short. For those starting to grow their hair long like myself, I find it a great website with lots of pics.
Geez Gil, I'm real sorry to have wasted so much of your time. Those seconds to click on message and heaven forbid if you visited my site, we're getting pretty close to a minute of wasted time here. My profuse apologies. I know I'm not a longhair, not even close, hell the marines might be interested in me.
Just out of curiosity, how long are you planing to grow your top hair?
If you are just growing your top hair, maybe you would consider an
undercut? Only a suggestion.
I'd love to have an undercut (as I'd love to have long hair everywhere) but certain reasons prevent me. I'd like to grow my bangs to my chin but that would be the limit.
Would you mind telling us what those reasons are? I can't be the only one here who is curious :-)
cheers big ears,
james
stanley's participation here is no waste of anyone's time. if yoou feel that it is wasting your time i'm sure none of us would object to you not reading the posts. perhaps his hair length isn't as long as some others' but many of the issues are the same. if we move to exclude him because his hair doesn't measure to a 'standard' then we lose all credibility when we protest things like the workplace's tendency to exclude us for our hair length. i'm sure there's sufficient bandwidth on the internet for you to establish some sort of hair length elitist club if that is your choosing.
I've corresponded with Stanley, and he has sound reasons for having his hair the length he does. When a man has sound reasons regarding his own hair, that's sure good enough for me. Stanley's got some great pages up for guys starting out, and he's man enough to put his face and name on them. Gil, you could put up some pages to make up for where you think Stanley's are lacking, but you'd have to show your face (gasp!) to do that. Gil, you could have written Stanley and talked to him about his hair, but you'd have to reveal your e-mail address (gasp!) to do that. Are you up to the task? Stanley has shown us he is.
Stanley's hair is not short - it's definitely in the medium range, and it's pushing long. In my book, if a man's hair is long enough for him to catch flak about it, he has things to share here, and Stanley's hair is certainly in that league.
Indeed on my own web site I've said a longhair is "A man with long hair, particularly hair long enough to fall upon the shoulders." That's the length at which people will start calling you "a longhair". We all know we begin to catch flak about our hair before it gets that long and we get anointed with the label, though!
Stanley in his post was upfront about his site showing hair only long on top. I don't see that he mislead anybody at all. And Gil, there's a real shortage of good pages up by longhairs about growing their hair. When you get yours up, let us know. We'll be delighted to see them!
Bill and Stanley,
I admit I too enjoy long hair, but sometimes the passionate obsession that folks here have about long hair is just plain SILLY. Once it begins to become a crusade and political soapbox topic then it is time to paint a big "L" on your forehead "dude" (another term from the stone age that grates like fingernails on a chalkboard).
You would be surprised that my pic IS in Victor's galleries. No, I don't want my email box littered with righteous "dudes" defending their right to obsess. But guys, in light of the state of the world this past month lighten up on the premise that growing long hair is the number one concern we should be focused on.
Gil
So who is obsessed? It was you who freaked when Stanley's hair was not long enough for your tastes. Stanley is enjoying his hair, and that is something we celebrate here.
We don't need to paint scarlet letters on our foreheads to identify us as longhairs. Isn't that a bit obvious? As for hearing the term "dude", if you're going to hang out around longhairs, which is what happens here, you better get used to it, dude, because it's a term of affirmation in this community. It has its roots not in "the stone age" but in the sixties, a time when longhairs first asserted their rights, and that makes the term special. What is it about longhairs supporting one another that so frightens you man? (Not that the term "dude" even appeared in the post, so I'm puzzled about why THAT obsession of yours - how many do you have? - sprang from nowhere out of your head.)
You're right. Without seeing the link, I would be surprised. As for obsessors in your in-box, my first thought was that you should enjoy the like company, :-) but you really wouldn't get much of that kind of company from here. Longhairs are really a pretty laid back lot. We have that reputation we have to live up to you know. (smile)
What would really please us all is for you to look within and figure out what is eatin' at you man.
Perhaps you haven't noticed that this is a LONGHAIR board. One could
almost logically conclude that longhair might just possibly be the
topic of conversation.
stanleybey,
i think you've got GREAT hair...looks thick, shiny, healthy. an undercut would look good, but that's your choice!

Thanks
