Hello dear Friends,
i'm sorry i don't post often these day but i have a HUDGE amount of work from school plus i need to play a lot of guitar to my music school, so even if i check the board everyday i haven't the time to post.
I'v seen great update i'm happy to see al your hair growing or regrowing for some people :)
Anyway i have a bad new, I have the "Seborrheic Dermatitis", this is a kind of skin disease that can affect some part of the face and scalp, fortunately i only have it on my scalp and ear canals, so i don't have munch esthetic problems than a lot of dandruff on my scalp, the worsk part is that i have constant itching on my scalp and that my root are really greasy.
I have a treatment, it woked for a while but no more... the product is used juste make my hair dry and even if it reduce the itching for 2 or 3 days it doesn't prevent the big amount of dead piec of skin to apear of my scalp 30 mins after i wash my hair...
since all the product if used doesn't help me and damage my hair i think i must use a more natural way to stop the itching and dandruff so i though about using some medicinal plant to make a kind of lotion that i can use everyday without washing my hair, for that i need a plant that have a fungicide effect and that doesn't hurt hair but condition it, i'm still looking for it...
I don't hope that there is some of you that have the same problem but if there is, i would like you to share with me your experimentation about this disease and the solution you have maybe found.
Thanks you all for your support.

Hi Angel.
I thought you mentioned something like this a while back. If not then please forgive me, but if so, you certainly need some help with this. One of the best products available is Neutrogena T-gel shampoo. It may dry your hair a bit, but you can avoid this to some extent by using a good shampoo and conditioner between treatments. Also, if you have had this for a while you might want to examine your diet. Make sure you are getting ample nutrition. You may be missing something in your diet. I do hope you find relief soon.
Jeffrey.
Hey there Angel!
I also have that problem, altough I was able to stop it (or at least reduce it a lot) for a long time now. I only have it on my scalp, and I finally went to a skin doctor and she gave me a shampoo and a lotion that did wonders. I had to use the lotion eery day (I think, I don't remember clearly) but then, when i finished the treatment (a long while ago) it stoped. Now I still sometimes get some flakes (which only look like dandruff, they don't itch), and altough sometimes it itches (generally when i sweat, which doesn't happen too much anyways) it's much better now...
So don't lose hope, as you will eventually find a solution. Just keep looking! But remember, there's not a definite cure for it, just remember not to stress, because it gets the situation worse... This kind of fungus strikes when people get nervous and stressed. So remember not to...
I wish you the best luck!!!
Sorry to hear about this, Angel. I suggest you do some research on "Tea Tree Oil" known in France as "Arbre à thé". It is used for skin related disorders and scalp disorders. It might work so I suggest you do some research on it.
Wow man sorry to hear about your condition. Judging from your neat website, i think your hair and overall appearance looks great! Good Luck!
I have it too. On my scalp and behind the ears. I've had it for maybe 6 months now, but never really did anything about it since it isn't visible to anyone else and it doesn't seem to itch much. The dandruff is a problem though. In any case, I think it's getting worse, so I'm going to start looking for a solution too.
Hi, I'm a pharmacy student and I also have this condition. The first line treatment for seborrheic Dermatitis is the antifungal agent Ketokonazole (Brand name Nizoral). I use it myself, and although it's no miracle, it certainly helps the itching and greasy buildup. You basically just use it 2 times weekly until your problem is gone, and then once every 2 weeks to prevent recurring symptoms. Don't worry about it damaging your hair, just use a heavy conditioner as well as a leave-in conditioner the day after you use it.
If you want to try something more "natural", you could try a shampoo with tea tree oil. However, I have heard positive and negative responses about it, and get inconsistent studies on it when I do Medline searches.. (that's typically how all herbal products are)
Personally it didnt help me out any.
hope I helped,
D
Unfortunately I had it too and since i have curly hair, it made some of it fall out. I alternated between coal tar shampoo, nizoral, and selsum blue. I put apple cidar vinegar and water in a spray bottle and sprayed it on my headline and the bottom of my neck which had the most scaling. How often you shampoo depends on your hair type and how oily your scalp gets. The oiler your scalp, the more frequent you should use medicated shampoos. I know it may be harsh on your hair but its yeast just like other skin fungi (ringoworm, athlete's feet) it may take weeks to get rid of completely and you cant skimp on the treatment otherwise itll come back.
Hope the best for you.
Monroe
Try tea tree oil.
