Hi all!
I've just resigned from my current position, leaving at the end of October. It was one of those situations where I just couldn't handle going into the place each day anymore and had to get out (not due to any hair related pressures though, mainly due to excessive workload and not being considered for a payrise in over three years). I haven't tried finding a new job with long hair before, so wish me luck! I normally work in office situations so I am imagining a bit of a challenge ahead of me. Might try an outdoor or labor situation for a while for a change of pace, give me a bit of time to think while keeping my hair on, as they say.
Just thought I'd let you know!

My best to you! "Pounding the pavement" is never easy, --- regardless of hair length... If at all possible, see if you can find your new job while you're still employed with your old company, since you're not leaving until the end of October, anyway.

I can understand the pressure as well as being passed over for pay increase. So I sympathize with you in that regard. However it is always easier to look for anothe job when you have a job rather than quit and start to look. Good luck in your endeavor.
Maybe you could look at your strengths and envision a business of your own. This might be a good time to set yourself free from being someone elses employee.
Matt,
Best of luck to you...hang in there! I'm sure something will come your way.
Take care and keep it growin'!

Good luck. Depending on where you live, you may or may not need it.
Thanks all, actually I'm already looking! have a few interviews lined up.
Best of Luck.....it is a tough decision these days to "turn off the money machine", but to do so on principle is honorable.
Your integrity will show in interviews....don't worry about the hair. It also shows integrity.
Keep us posted on your (job & hair) progress.
