I.VE BEEN GOING TO THE SAME STYLIST FOR 2+YEARS, SHE ALWAYS CUT JUST AS I ASKED, A 1"TRIM. YESTERDAY SHE AND ANOTHER STYLIST TALKED ME INTO SOME LIGHT LAYERING ON THE BOTTOM OF MY MID BACK HAIR. DISASTER! I ENDED UP ABOUT 10"SHORTER OVERALL WITH GOOFY CHUNKY LAYERS EVEN SHORTER. IT STICKS OUT EVERYWHERE AND JUST LOOKS BAD. I DON,T WANT TO CUT ANYMORE BUT FEEL I NEED TO DO SOMETHING TO EVEN IT OUT. ANY IDEA,S OUT THERE BEFORE I HAVE TO CHOP IT ALL OFF TO START OVER?
John, it is YOUR hair. For more than two years you have been following a procedure that has resulted in satisfaction. Why, then, did you let a stylist "talk" you into something else? Nothing was "broke", so why the "fix"?
Now your hair is "broke" and here's the "fix": first do NOT chop it all off to start over. Working with what you have left there is a procedure that you can follow that will guarantee a return to your original one-length blunt cut with no further damage. If you will access my website (to establish my credentials as a men's stylist) and email me a photo of your hair in its present state, I will give you a solution geared specifically to you/your problem personally.
You mentioned a Web site in your previous post. Could you post it?
www.BRGallagher.com and Mick (and anyone else), when you visit would you please take time to sign our guestbook? Much appreciated.
I have longhair myself and I met up with Bruce and he offered some really good tips and I would recommend him highly. I even crossed the pond for such good advise.
Cheers,
John.
Thanks for the compliment, John. Am crossing the pond myself in early December--maybe a chance to meet on your hometurf this time. All the best. B
I have tried to email you directly for your advice but I keep getting
"unable to deliever mail, user unknown". What am I doing wrong? Do
you mind if we email you directly? Thanks for any response you may
give.
MG, I cannot imagine why you are not getting through--are you sure you are using my current email address? Also, contacting me directly through the website should also work. I do not object to anyone contacting me directly for advice. It seems that lots of you "longhairs" have gotten the short end of the stick from members of my profession. My business is very "longhaired-men-friendly", so any advice/service I can provide to make amends...
It seems to be impossible. When I have time I will try your website
again. That didn't work the first time either. But thanks anyway.
Maybe BRGallagher's email is incorrect? It seems kind of strange to have one with a dot before the '@' like his:
bruce.gallagher@verizon.com
Then again, it's prettly likely that I'm wrong.
email address with dot between first and last name is correct.
Ever since I got my hair layered and streaked two years ago, I've been skeptical ever since. It was a horrible job! Now that my hair has grown out, I would like to layer it again - myself. I only want the front of my hair layered; having the layers starting at about 2 inches below my chin. Would you be able to instruct me on how to do so?
