I got some interesting responses to my post about me becoming a newbie again. I appreciated the responses and the support. It is not the end of the world but a little emotional for me and I appreciate the understanding.
I felt to share a little abit about myself since I am fairly new to the hyperboard.
For those who asked what part of MI I am from, I'm a yooper. That's right I come from Upper Michigan in Marquette where it the ground is white about 8 months out of the year.
I also wanted to share my story of how I became so attached to my curly locks. I started growing my hair long in my sophmore year in High School. I wore a layered mullett though cause that was the style back then and I just went with the flow. When I got to college I decided it was time for a new look. Not neccessarily with my hair but with my body. I realized that I was bordering on morbidly obese. I was in bad health eating bad food all the time and smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I decided I wanted a new look. I also was getting tired of my mullett. I decided I wanted a chiseled body and my hair one length. A year later I went from 267 lbs at 28% bodyfat to 160 lbs at 4% bodyfat. By then my hair was just past the middle of my back. I never felt better or looked better. I felt like my hair was my strenght the whole time like Samson of the Bible! That was an emotional time for me after being overweight all my life and getting teased about it. I never got a serious haircut since then and that was almost ten years ago.
Well I hope I did not ramble too much. Just wanted to share that story with you all. When I cut my hair this time I will find a new goal to work on while it grows back!
Congrats on all the weight loss. I am on my own weight loss journey now, now down 60 lbs less than my highest weight. Still losing. Good luck with the job training, and I do hope you get to grow the hair back.

Ravenslocks31, An inspiring story and similar to my own. I have lost a lot of weight (50 lbs) and started growing out my mullet almost 3 yrs ago. Quite a radical change. Will be posting some update and comparison pics as the anniversary date approaches in about 2 months. Good luck on your journey and employment with the state.
